Constant peeing at night?

Am in my 9th week and while I'm not having too much trouble with peeing in the day (my bladder's rubbish anyway so used to going wuite often), the last few nights have been a nightmare! I've been waking at least twice to pee (which I can live with), but when I first get into bed, I need to pee straight away and then have to keep going every 10 mins until I fall asleep. I think it may be that when I lie down my womb is pressing on my bladder - has anyone got any tips on positions that might prevent this??

Try sleeping on your left side perhaps? Its good for later when the baby grows bigger too.

Also, if you are needing the loo very often, it can be a sign of a mild urine infection, make sure you are drinking lots of water early in the day (not right before bed ) and maybe try some cranberry juice? Probably isn't this, but its worth trying.

Thanks, I will try that. I know it's not an infection as I had a dip test done two days ago. It's literally just that half hour to an hour after I get into bed!

I was like this with both my pregnancies, and tbh I don't recall it getting much better.
Last few weeks I was up every 1.5 hrs during the night to go to the loo! I was knackered! Best thing was that once lo arrived I was actually getting more sleep and felt quite well.

I do recall tho that the middle trimester didn't seem quite so bad, so you may get some relief soon.

Awful isn't it?

You can try rocking after you've peed. this is meant to move pressure off the womb so that you might be able to get a bit more out...

And get some really soft loo roll - all that wiping takes it's toll on your fanjo

Agree with JJ3908 - rocking backwards and forwards after you pee definitely helps in late pregnancy so try it in early. Might help.

I'm 15 weeks pg now. And four weeks ago I was peeing 4 times a night. Wished I read this advice then. Saying that the last few days I've started peeing in the night again, all I can reckon is that things have moved around!

I'm 37 weeks pregnant and I've had the connstant peeing since I was about 8 weeks, it's awful.

I try not to have any fluids after 8pm, but that doesnt seem to do much I still need to get up to pee 10 times minimum. Try not to think about when you will next need to pee, that makes you need to go. Rock side to side or back and forth whilst weeing. Also I use baby wipes instead of toliet roll if I'm getting sore from constant wiping and using anti germ gel instead or soap and water helps stop cracked hands from washing them all the time after using the bathroom.

I don't really think there is alot you can do as when you lie dowm all the fluid retained in your lower body works its way to your bladder. Its a right pain in the ar*e but suppose it's natures cruel way to prepare us to having a screaming baby in the middle of the night.

i'm peeing like crazy as well at 9 weeks and i have appalling wind and bloating. I had to leave a cafe and go outside to belch furiously this morning so as not to terrify the other customers. Still, only another 31 weeks to go
