I am finding despite the ailments that I am really enjoying this bit
Loving the body - enjoying having the little person inside still!
Feeling so 'full' of my dp ( does that sound odd)

I do not think i normally feel able to enjoy this bit - maybe it is summer baby but its just lovely, I am savouring this feling

Am I alone?

Oh, I love the last week or so of pregnancy. I remember thinking that it was like an extended Christmas Eve. I felt dreamy and anticipatory, and I quite enjoyed waddling around at a glacial pace and feeling all the little twinges. I even enjoyed it when strangers stopped me in the street and told me that I looked ready to pop.

yes policy that is a good analogy

People are all commenting on how low the bump is and it seems everyone is asking when it is due

I think i have missed out by having winter ones - it all feels ridiculously calm and lovely...

( misty eyed emotion)

It is probably going to be delivery from hell and baby to match!

Looks like it's just us then . Most people hate being heavily pregnant I think.

Good luck with it. I'm sure it'll be like shelling peas...

Lol policywonk - When I was 9 months pregnant with my last baby, every time I got up for a wee in the night I kept thinking 'please don't come tonight, I'm too tired!!'

you are right though, you feel so special and important

What a lovely thread, i'm 36wks and have been feeling a bit down due to usual pregnant stuff etc.

My dh has been great, helping out, bought me flowers last week, my mum is doing my ironing and giving me a pedicure this week.

I think it's nice to make the most of the attention you get (as long as it's from the right people!)

I'm 38+2 and yesterday our regular supermarket checkout lady remarked how much I'd dropped - I was so pleased she'd noticed, lol. As this'll probably be my only pregnancy then YES I'm enjoying these last couple of weeks even though I whinge about lumbering around & looking 'fat'.

I'm 39 wks today, so 7 days to go. Tried everything even whole pineapple last night to no avail.
Got DD1 out at 39+2, sorry but I'm one of these pregnant folks who haes being preggers, though loves the baby! LOL!

Glad to hear some of you are enjoying the last few weeks, I just keep thinking how lucky I am to b able to have a healthy 2nd!

I loved that 'waiting for a baby' feeling too. it is like an extended christmas eve in a way. Lovely, even though they were both WELL late!

I'm not enjoying it
due tomorrow
enormous unweildy bump and mild spd
ds being wobbly and difficult
the stupid inane comments
can't hardly walk anywhere or get comfortable
hard to get comfy in bed
the endless waiting
can't do stuff around the house
aaaaaaargh

That would be a no.

Mind you I didn't enjoy any bits of either of my pregnancies.

Well good luck to you all. Believe it or not I'm envious - of late pregnancy, labour, birth and newborn little aliens.

Good for you, I have desperately missed being pregnant after both of my births, is sad that this special time gets wished away too often.

I loved the excitement of not knowing when or how it was all going to start, what it would be like meeting the baby etc etc.

FrannyandZooey · 03/07/2008 20:13

yes sorry for whining
I think it should be a fab time - I was quite happy with ds as I recall, although a little by the time he emerged 10 days late

but as I said to dp today, looking after a 5 year old is no job for a 9 m pg woman
we should all be shipped to health spas or something for the last month
I resent EVERYTHING I have to do for myself or anyone else
such a fag

Yep I too loved the leading up to the due date, it was the 2 weeks wait afterwards that drove me round the bend!

'looking after a 5 year old is no job for a 9 m pg woman'

Why do you think the rest of us send 'em to SCHOOL

I do remember being completely exhausted. If I'm honest, the times I remember as being really enjoyable in DS2's late pregnancy tended to mysteriously coincide with DS1's rare sessions at nursery.

I'll be thinking of you - hope it all goes well.

FrannyandZooey · 03/07/2008 21:03

yes the point of this mysterious 'school' place has slowly dawned on me over the last few months

Report
ButterflyMcQueen · 03/07/2008 22:49

it is hard looking after the others but still lovely

its all sunny and i am lucky to still be able to manage a lot of walking which helps one feel full of the joys

nights are a bit of a pain but i wake snuggled up to the bump - a lot easier than after!

i have chocolate in my bedside table!

I was really sad at 36-38 weeks that I wouldn't be pregnant anymore soon - I was expecting and told DD would be an early baby. I really enjoyed being pregnant. Fast forward to 39.5-40.5 weeks and I was SOOOOOOOOOOOO p'd off. Hope you continue to enjoy this special time because as uncomfy as it is, it is.

I'm trying to enjoy it this is my last pregnancy and the last time I will feel a baby kicking about in there.

If I knew for definite it was only 6 days I would be happier, 20 days I am not!

ButterflyMcQueen · 04/07/2008 10:35

i get that sweetkitty

i know mine will be here by 5 days after edd at latest so it is bearable as the end is in sight!
