How early did you start to show? I'm very short (under 5ft) and although not that skinny, there simply isn't anywhere for growing womb to go except outwards....! Have a feeling I will show quite early - trousers already tight at 5 weeks! Anyone care to share how their baby-bump took over....???

I am short, just over 5ft. People keep commenting on how massive i am. Dr and midwife say its perfectly normal. I think its becuase the bump has to go outwards as have very little length if you know what i mean. (am 32 weeks)

I thought i was showing at 12 weeks, in reality, whilst i was fatter than i normally am (size 10) i didn't look pregnant to anyone except me or my DP.
Bump became very obviously pregnant looking between 18 - 20 weeks which is think is fairly normal for tall and short people. Everyone is different.

I was V bloated at the begining, i was told your bowels slow down to allow the baby to get more nutrients from your food, so is fairly likely to be that rather than baby at this stage.

Good luck with your pregnancy

I am 5 ft 10 and still don't really look that obviously pregnant at 28 weeks (just fatter!!) I think its all still fitting inside but pushing the flab out. It makes sense that a shorter trunk lenght would result in a more protruding bump though.

I am around 5' I had a quite compact bump first time around and an average sized baby the last 3 bumps were huge and substantial quite early on and they were large babies at birth too!

It also depends if your bump is all out front or sort of makes you rotund IYWIM

im 5'3 and showed around 10 weeks with 1st pg and i had a massive bump. Im an 8 and from behind didnt look pg but once i turned sideways people used to say its a wonder i didnt fall on my face. Am currently 18 weeks and a v big bump. i was in maternity jeans by 6 weeks. With this one everyone keeps saying i look further ahead...

This bump is higher than ds. When you are small there is literaly no where to go but out! Ds was 7'7oz so perfect size.

Itw quite normal so dont worry! Just a bit hard to hide from everyone at the beginning!

Just realised that for once in my life im the tallest in the room! Well the thread anyway. Cant count mrsboogie as she's tall!

Hi,

im 5'2 with first baby. Belly started getting bigger around 14 weeks but at 16 it suddenly grew overnight! Now 18.5 and visibly pregnant. Not being the thinnest girl in the world, i simply looked fatter for a long time but now its taking shape! However all my bump is up top under my ribs yet baby is very low in my pelvis. strange!
