Am 35 weeks now and my heartburn has gotten to the point I have an ulcerated throat, Feels like I have constant big lump in my throat. Can't swallow or lie down.

Dr prescribed me Ranitidine today and bliss it is working!!!

Just thought I'd share for anyone else that has the problem.

Was soldiering on with Gaviscon advance drinking straight from the bottle!! but decided enough was enough!

Was previously fobbed off by doctor and midwife and told to just put up with it but gave the doctor my best "I'm not leaving your office until you help me" face.

Mind you sarcastic git did say well you could do with losing some weight when I told him I couldn't eat!

I've been taking Zantac (ranitidine) when it gets really bad for a few weeks now, MW was a bit and told me to get it prescribed. I will make an appointment and get some next week.

Just had a swig of Gaviscon myself have nearly finished a 600 ml bottle I bought last Friday and it's vile I only take it when I have too.

You have my sympathies.

I was given ranitidine along with my anti-emetics last time - I don't think they like prescribing it until very late in pg, though. I wasn't given it until the last few weeks, and the hospital pharmacist said it was only really given to me as I only had a few weeks til my c-section.

I have my Ranitidine prescription at the ready already at 22 weeks.

Have had to use it only a couple of times so far, but only a matter of time before the Gaviscon fails me.

DS1 is sooooo high up in my abdomen he's been wrecking havoc with my digestive system.
