Pregnancy

Having just found out I'm pregnant can anyone enlighten me as to any new advice since my last baby?

DS is only 3 so I'm sure nothing has changed much. What are the best pregnancy websites/magazines/books for health and new products.

I'm assuming it's still no unpasturised/blue cheese, no shell fish, not pate/liver, alcohol - is it none or small amounts now? Can't think of anything else!!

yes it's still:

no unpasturised/blue cheese (no soft cheeses, no shell fish, no pate/liver,

also vegetables and fruit should be washed thoroughly; meat and eggs should be cooked well. And generally good food hygiene.

As for alcohol - I don't think you'll find any evidence to show that a small amount of alcohol is harmfuL It's up to you - the official advice in the UK is no alcohol. Obviously large amounts of alcolhol could be harmful.

I avoided caffiene due to possible links with miscarriage, and as I've had two miscarriages, I don't really want to take any chances.

Most of this is down to common sense I think!

Thanks Belgo, just need to watch my caffiene intake I think. I do like my cup of coffee in the morning!

..not meant to eat deep sea fish
not more than 2 tins of tuna a week
no shell fish

(btw i have eaten pretty much all of the banned stuff this time round)

I think the tins of tuna thing is due to mercury?
