Im 15 weeks tomorrow and for last few days ive been feeling what i found out at the end of last pg (!) braxton hicks across my bump. It isnt hurting just goes all hard. Is this braxton hicks, if so should i be worried its so early? (this is pg #2)

Hi mad4mybaby,

Had the same thing, but as it is my first I can't be of much help I'm afraid. Now 25 weeks and lots of kicking. Bump stills does the same, tight as drum one minute and all squishy the next. I've always thought it was braxton hicks. Would be great to know if any knows any different.

You should get this checked out, but I had braxton hicks from about then with my first pregnancy. I had morning sickness which made me dehydrated which apparently can cause braxton hicks.

I had this too with my last pregnancy from quite early on. Funny when it goes all hard and over to one side! I'd mention it to midwife/GP if you're worried though.

I'm pg with my second and have been having regular braxton hicks since around about 14 - 15 weeks too. Am now 32 wks. It's never occured to me to ask the midwife as I just thought it was normal.

Following on from what Belgo said, I do notice they are worse when I'm not well hydrated.

Were your pregnancies close together? I'm on no3 and this is third in five years - I've also had bh since about 15 weeks and mw said it was probably because my uterus is a bit irritable for that reason. If they come very regularly (like every few minutes), she said to get it checked but otherwise pretty par for the course I think.
