Hypothyroid & pregnant - anyone else out there?

Hi! I'm after a bit of advice and support on dealing with hypothyroidism during pregnancy. As this is a suspected cause of at least one of my 2 previous mcs, I'm quite keen to make sure everything goes well this time.

I had my free T4 and TSH levels checked just after getting my BFP, and my TSH levels had risen significantly since my test 4 weeks earlier. My GP recommended I increase my thyroxine dose by 25mg.

Has anyone else had a similar experience, and if so, how much did your thyroxine dosage change during pregnancy?

Any thoughts welcome! Thanks.

I can't recall sorry but suspect my dose changed by 50-100 mcg

I saw an endocrinologist during both my pregnancies

for ds2 mine went up 25mcg, kept my tsh at around 1, TSH went up to 6.5! at 4 weeks, am currently back down to 100mcg to see how that does.

So many replies already - thank you!

I was 6 weeks on Friday - had a scan and saw heartbeat. First time I've seen a live bean, so v relieved.

Going by FT4 is hard, as I don't know where it is supposed to be. Test before last, TSH 4.71, FT4 16.7. Test at 4 weeks pg, TSH 18.33, FT4 14.9.

I have to confess, 25mcg didn't seem like enough to bring TSH down to "normal" range, so I've increased the dose by 50mcg to 125mcg. Doctor doesn't know that yet..... Don't feel hyper, so probably OK.

I've received usual stuff about booking scan, but nothing about an endocrinologist. Will make appointment with mid-wife and ask her about this. She might have more clue than GP.

Thanks for the advice - much appreciated.I feel reassured that I am doing the right thing keeping the dose higher than instructed! Next test in a few weeks time - so keeping fingers crossed that FT4 is higher.
