dizziness - can this be early pg or do I need to go & see my GP?

I don't feel pg at all, though would love to be - we are ttc, had a mc in March, and had 1 af since then. Not sure what my cycles are doing, but going on my old 28-day pattern, af should be due on Sunday.

Since Monday morning, I've been having crazy dizzy spells, that make me feel like the room is spinny, and that I'm kind of leaning to one side.. also feeling a bit sick (but that's not surprising, given that I feel like I'm on a ship!). Oh, and I've been feeling really knacked for the last couple of weeks, so much so that I've had 2 hour naps while ds sleeping, in the middle of the day for the last 2 days. I am rubbish at taking naps when I'm tired, but haven't been able to stay awake these last 2 days.

I know dizziness can be a pg symptom, but I haven't had it with any previous pgs (ds, who is now 14 months, and 2 mcs).
Dh is worried & wants me to go and see the GP but I'm tempted to wait til next Monday and test if AF not arrived, just in case it is because of pg.
Do these sound like pg symptoms? Or what else could it be?

Sounds like you have an ear infection - sorry. I'd wait until Monday and then go to GP and try sniffing olbas oil. If the dizziness miraculously disappears you could have an earwax build up or an infection.

Or hopefully you are about to start vomiting and being bulbous like so many of us round here. (ie you are pregnant)

Good luck.

The problem with dizziness it that it can be caused by just about anything and I don't think it is safe to assume it is pregnancy. If you are that dizzy that suddenly you should go and see your gp.

thanks whomoved.. I have been (in the dark recesses of my mind) thinking it could be an ear infection, but getting my hopes up (of course ) because the dizziness has been coming and going.
I am off to dig out olbas oil..

is it sensible to wait til after the weekend to see GP d'you reckon or should I just go asap? bear in mind I cannot make reasonable decisions for myself because I am in a strange ttc place.. v grateful for your direction!

I'd wait till Monday - two reasons:

(1) the GP will be crazy busy on Friday and you'll wait ages and then beat yourself up if it's negative.
(2) By Monday, if you are and you take first morning urine, you'll get a really clear definitive result. Also there's a chance the ear infection will have passed by then.

I had exactly what you are describing feelings of nausea and was stumbling about all over the place - in fact i was signed off work sick for a week because it was so bad. Went to the doctor who thought it might be a viral infection and prescribed some anti sickness tablets but 10 days later i discovered a BFP.
Tested negative a few days prior but must have been too early.
It could be an ear infection but for me it was a very early (three weeks in) pregnancy symptom. Fingers crossed for you and good luck

whomoved - I am DEFINITELY not testing til Monday!!- I have learned from previous experience that getting the hpts out too early leads to madness and sinky-tums. Just wondering if I should get something for the dizziness before then.. I've been off work because of it, don't feel safe to drive tbh.

LolaBella - did you have the dizziness constantly or did it come and go?

mainly had it most of the time, much more bearably when i was laying or sitting down but when i was moving around it felt like i was drunk - in fact i must have been swaying too cause a couple of people actually asked if i was drunk

When i went to the doctor after a week she couldn't see any signs of a ear infection so diagnosed a viral infection which couldn't be treated - she basically said it had to run its course. My ears didn't hust or anything like that it was just my balance - is this similar to you?

I've not had any earache either, but the dizziness has been coming and going, worse in the mornings, tho having said that, it is not good right now. Apart from that and the tiredness, I feel fine. (I have, in true 2ww style, also noticed today that I have a little achey pain in my belly low on the right side.. so being as objective as I can be, probably the dizziness IS ear stuff, and the abdo pain is ovulation in my new, post-mc cycle!)

Well as long as it is bearable see how you get on over the next couple of days but if no better you could pop to the doctor to be on safe side. Fingers crossed it is not an ear infection though. Let us know how you get on and good luck

If you have an inner ear infection you won't necessarily have earache. I would go to the GP tomorrow as in my experience the longer you leave it the harder it is to resolve.
Oh, and Monday is a Bank Holiday!

think I might go to the Gp about the ear thing tomorrow or Thurs, I should've said the dizziness started last Friday , not Monday, so it has been going on long enough!

just a little update - BFP this morning! I guess the dizziness still might be an ear thing, I still have it (less severe) and a few other signs too.

GMM - I know , it was a moment's weakness. I was on my way to the loo, and found myself taking a detour to the bedroom cupboard where HPT was stashed.. and then somehow peeing on the thing. I was so annoyed with myself even as I was doing it that I nearly got into the shower without checking it!
Fingers crossed for you!

Spink, I'm not going to post on any due date threads yet. Want to wait and find out if it is sticky, a there is a high chance it won't be (due to fibroids). In fact, we didn't think we could get preg until I had them removed! (And we conceived on Day 21 of my cycle, so it is a very surprise pregnancy!)

Fingers crossed for yours being sticky!

Good luck with your testing too Gluteus.

I used to be stocked up but found myself taking the same little detour as you so now I only buy them the day before I want to test. I know the 'strange TCC place' you talk of!

Hope it all goes well for you and you have a lovely, healthy pregnancy and babyspink
