Hey all - since falling pregnant my appetite seems to have changed quite a bit, before I was always hungry whereas now I am never really hungry so while I eat I never seem to know what I fancy. Just thought I would start a thread of the foods I am liking and eating - I wonder if everyone is completely different or if there are pregnancy similarities??

Mine are:

Beefburgers (well cooked of course!)
Crisps (wotsits, pombear and worcestershire sauce french fries)
Pasta
Strawberry Ribena

And that is about all I want, although not all I am eating! The funny thing is, before I was pregnant I rarely had any of them (apart from pasta)!!

yep this has happened to me, and previously i would eat my dinner and feel full, now i eat my dinner and have to stop as i can feel it almost coming back up my throat but my tummy isnt full at all. it means a meal takes an age to eat.

If i could I would only eat, strawberry icecream, strawberry ribena although i find it hard to get hold of, muller fruit corner yoghurts, cheese and salt and vinegar crisps.

My DH asks me what i fancy for tea and i say i never fancy anything to eat anymore. He gets really frustrated so i have to tell him to make me whatever and i will try to eat it. I wish I could just eat the strawberry icecream though

Mmm - I hadn't even thought of strawberry icecream but now you have made me want it!! If you live in Surrey, the newsagents in Epsom train station sells Strawberry Ribena so I buy it on my way to work!!

I wonder what it is with strawberries??

ha ha im not in surrey, ive been eating Cart'dor Strawberry and Yoghurt Delice which has strawberry puree running through it.... hmmmmm and its half price in tesco at the moment 1.50 a tub. I'd swap you a tub for a strawberry ribena but it would melt and you wouldnt get the pleasure.

Just thought, my dad lives at worcester park, surely he could go on a mercy mission for ribena to Epsom. Thats not unreasonable is it?

I'm going through another off-again phase re. food - not so much that I'm not hungry, but just that I can't think of anything I want to eat (not like me at all!) These seem to be interspersed with manic periods of obsession over certain things; in the past it's been orange Lucozade, pickled onion Monster Munch, pickles with extra salt sprinkled on them, Cadbury's Caramels...umm, this isn't really making me look good actually

at the mo I've gone off tea (gutted - it's my fave drink!) and chocolate!! In fact I have a huuuge Lindor easter egg sitting in the kitchen just looking back at me - have no inclination to eat it at all... I have been a chocolate-free zone for 12 weeks now

I have also been getting a bit of indigestion so I have a hit list of banned foods which make me feel cack so safe ones are:

Cheese (especially cheese salad cobs, mmmm)
Robinsons Orange and Barley drink
fruity ice lollies
chicken super noodles (nice & healthy!!)
most fruit
jacket potato
baked beans

Anything else just needs to be eaten very slowly and in small amounts to avoid tasting it for the rest of the day!!

TheDoctorsWife* Worcester Park isn't far - I found its sold in proper newsagents rather than supermarkets, I'm sure your dad would love to make your day! Also I think Wilkinsons sell it if you have one near you?

There seems to be a bit of a crisp theme here too - and I hardly ever ate them before now I am having about 1 a day, sometimes 2!!

Off to have lunch in a bit and no idea what I want, I am going to sit down somewhere with my lunch and read my new book on Hypnobirthing!

I thought I was the only one not knowing what to eat! Am usually a good eater but since being pg (6+4 wks) I never know what I want. Early on I had a major liking to toast and jam but even that has gone now. And hubby is def getting fed up too...hehe.

bacon
toast (smell of)
coffee

Oh god, I forgot the steak! I don't eat meat usually and have been happily meat-free for years, but since getting up the duff I've been craving beef like mad. No other meat products really, although the thought of pork is starting to appeal...but no bacon, sausages, ham or anything like that, and no poultry either. Just rich, tasty cow.

If my kid ever tries fussy eating, I shall just tell him "You made me eat meat!"

I can't start the day without toast and Marmite! I've always liked Marmite, but not quite so obsessively. Also eating a lots of strawberries, melon and ice cream (I never used to like it, but I like to coldness now).

In lieu of peanuts (lots of allergies on both sides of family) I have started munching those Sesame Snap bars. Not bad.

Also gone off tea - used to have about 5 or 6 cups a day sometimes.

I get full really quickly now too, and I've found that I have to stop eating when I'm full, I can't force myself to be greedy. Before I was pg I was very keen on my food!

On my like list!
banana and honey sandwiches
Chunky kitkats from the fridge
diet coke (bad, I know, I know, but none of my list is particularly healthy)
licorice
sunflower seeds
salt and vinegar kettle chips
bbq beef hula hoops
carrot sticks
orange juice (previously gave me a massively upset stomach)
steak

On my 'Oh I would give anything for' list
prawn sandwiches

Nothing much makes me feel ill, but I spend a lot of time thinking I'm starving and then when I have a meal in front of me i can only eat a few mouthfuls. Eating a small amount regularly is what works for me.
