and whilst i was there my midwife did the usual routine (urine checked etc) and also did the measurement of the fetal (fundus measurement) whilst i was lying on the bed - its on the 60th centile

Am i gonna have another big baby? Im 20 weeks this Friday coming.

(my DD was measured big all the way thru the pg and was weighed 9lb 1oz)

Have you booked a c-section?

possibly, but 60 th centile not that much above average

also, fundal measurement and palpation, even growth scans are not 100 % accurate

don;t worry about it at all

I suppose you should expect a 60th percentile baby, so bigger than average but not by much!

no not booked for a c-section as i had an emergency c-section with DD after 17 hours labour as she was facing the wrong way.

i just dont fancy another big baby but i know it cant be helped.

I always measured exactly right for fundal height with both pregnancies.

Ds1 born on 9th centile, 25th ever since (he's now 3.8).

Ds2 born on about the 60th centile, he now hovers at about 50 (when I can be bothered to check he's now almost 2).

Not sure what that proves or disproves but I would say don't worry, it's not an exact science!

60th centile isn't very big, though -- only slightly above average.

biglips not necessarily
Ds was 9lb1oz and I measure really big with both DDs yet both were a measley 6lbs14 in comparision. I even had a growth scan with DD1 and was told she was on the 10lb side at 39wks cue much panic etc but tiny little wrinkled dot she was..not anymore though

agree with the other ladies. I don't think that fundal measurements are always 100% accurate so I wouldn't put too much weight (no pun intended!) on it - even scans aren't always accurate about size.
