Triple blood test results received today

Good afternoon, I'm hoping that some advice or just sheer straight talking will put some perspective on my test results! I am 13 weeks pregnant, my local autority do the triple test with nuchal fold. My results have come back as a risk of 1:1080 for a Downs baby, which I know, in my sensible rational side is very low risk -however, the non rational 5% is questioning "Do I need to have a amnio just to make sure?".

Can anyone comment on my thread - I said I wouldn't turn into a mad, obsessive pregnant woman - I have!!

very very low risk - work it out another way and you have a 0.000926 chance of the baby having DS.

An amnio carries a 0.005% chance of miscarriage.

I know which risk I'd rather take (and I had an amnio in my first pg because of high risk result for a chromosome disorder).

My maths is rubbish! I thought you calculate 1/1080 for the results or 1/200 for the amnio?

Apologies for hijack over my mathematical incompetence Donada but either way, the odds are greatly on your side! I think to be considered high risk you have to be above (or below?!) 1:250
