how does it feel when baby's head is engaged?

Never did with DS and i wondered if the head does engage with a 2nd pregnancy?

Last few days it feels like my bump has got smaller and i can suddenly eat a meal without crippling indigestion, also DP said the bump looks a different shape and my legs are much crampier/prone to pins and needles.

Baby is wriggly but not kicking as hard as before, though i think i's still moving as much, just with less force IYKWIM?

I am 36 weeks now - is it just normal for this stage (have no memories of last time at all!) And the moving with less force - that's normal too isn't it?!

if i remember correctly it feels like every step you take could be the one that makes you pee yourself. the pressure on the bladder is unbearable!

I had less heartburn and felt generally more comfortable. Had to be a bit careful when sitting!

If I remember correctly, it feels like you are about to lay an egg.

my pregnancy book says head may not engage until labour with 2nd and subsequent babies but I am 34 weeks with dc2 and the midwife said yesterday that baby's head has started to engage. My bump is lower, measured 33cm instead of 34 and I feel like there is something heavy sitting in my pelvis (I guess that's coz htere is somehting heavy sitting in my pelvis!).
My book also says during hte last few weeks the movements should be as frequent but not as forceful due to baby having less room to move

You have a little more room at the top of your body, to breathe, and suchlike, which is always handy.

And less room down below, which usually means back to pissing youself again, as in early stages.

Well i am just feeling a bit different generally so i suppose that it might have started - can't imagine there are many muscles left to hold it up...

Feels like movements are less frequent because they are less sudden and painful, but if i counted them am pretty sure they would be the same.

Just looking for stuff to worry about now i think - buying clothes yesterday made me nervous and had bad dreams last night...

at ChocolateRH - Im 37 weeks with ds2, and am yet to piss myself.

I didnt think the baby engaged until labour after youve had your first. However, where the babies bum used to be, there isnt anything now, it just feels like jelly! And I keep going for a wee, and nothing happens at all!
Does this sound like hes engaged? And what does that mean re going into labour (time wise).
Am on a massive nesting spree today!

Flubdub i have been nesting since about 25 weeks with avengeance! Although now i am too big to do much my family are nesting under my instruction...

Doesn't mean you will go into labour any sooner i'm afraid (was hopeful!)- you have to get used to that "get the baby out feeling"!

I have the same as you with the jely feeling - feels like my baby has gone or shrunk or something (that can't happen can it? like if you stay in the bath too long...)

No need to piss myself - DS happily did it all over my trousers yesterday while the boiler man was here. though he did position it carefully so it looked as though i had done it myself...

I am on my 5th, and have the jelly feeling at the top of my bump as well as feeling like I need loo all the time.
I have been feeling physically irritable, like I can't sit still, but have still managed to avoid housework today. I am 37 and a half weeks now. Hoping it won't be too long though, as long as it isn't on Eid, would be nice before though.
Have booked hairdresser's appointment for cut and colour, on Tuesday, so that might just do it!

Yes, last appointment I had I was told the baby is 3/5 engaged. Bump seems to have dropped, much less indigestion, fewer movements, need to wee every 30 seconds.
Off for a wee

It is nice being able to eat a full meal, I must say!
