DD is 4 months and I think I'm PG again! Any advice from anyone who managed it so close?

I'm just about to go out and buy the test - have not told DH of my suspicions yet and I am swinging from excited to petrified.

On one hand, I think it will be lovely for my DD to have a sis or bro close in age (12 months between me and my sis) when they are older, but am dreading the practical issues of managing a newborn with a one year old . If the test is +ive and all goes well, I reckon the due date will be 10 days after my DD's birthday.

OH wow congratulations! My cousins 2 are 12 or 11 months apart. It will be so lovely for your DD to have a brother or sister so close in age At one they are abit more able to entertain themselves, and TBH they aren't into the jealousy/hitting/putting new baby in the bin etc.

I think it's easier to look after children that are similar ages, you can always take them to the same places they will both like and they can share birthday parties, i havent done this myself though so not sure about the lack of sleep etc but then you might as well get the sleepless nights out of the way now plus you can re-use all your baby clothes and equiptment and they can always share the same kind of toys, plus all the nappies will be out of the way too and potty training too (just plan to buy a new carpet when the eldest hits 4 )

If you get them into the habit of having the same nap time you can nap too!

Congratulations! I have done it twice- ds is 11, dd1 10, dd2 9, then dd3 tagging along behind at 6. It is hard physical work when they are small, no doubt about that, but very nice for them, especially at school.

Oh wow, so exciting. Imagine how wonderful for them when they're older to be so close in age. I say the positives outweigh any negatives. Yipppeee! O

I'm 28wks pregnant and nanny to a 4mth old - not quite the same as having 2 of my own but similar. Apart from the tiredness in the early stages, the only problems I'm having is bending to pick her up and put her down. I just make sure I'm careful. Have been doing alot of sole charge recently as parents away but luckily she sleeps alot better than me!!! Once you've had the baby you just have to juggle the routines so you get at least one sleep when both babies are sleeping. Easier said than done I'm sure. Getting other peoples babies sorted is easy, I'm sure with my own it will be completely different!

congratulations! my DS is 23 weeks old and i am already 15weeks pregnant with #2(unplanned but very much wanted)

if one more person says "dont u have a TV ..."

anyway, am sure you will be fine. it will be tough but at least you will be able to get the sleepless nights out of the way!

So pleased to have found this thread - I am due in 4 weeks time (9th April) and have a beautiful little boy who will be 15.5 months old when the time comes. The pregnancy hasnt been as bad as I thought it would be - although the bump does get in the way sometimes, but feel better somehow knowing there are other of you loonies out there who are doing exactly the same thing!! Good luck to you all- and bring on the grey hairs!!
