I used to go to bellydance classes before I got preg. stopped due to feeling crap early preg. now starting to feel better and considereing going for a few weeks until I get too fat.

Anyone know any reasons why not????

this is my 3rd preg, and never had probs of SPD. I would avoid stomach undulations (camels), but otherwise I can't see why not, and would prefer it to preg yoga, at present anyway!

thanks for the advice. xx

In Spain, they have special classes for pregnant women in bellydancing... The theory goes that it's good for both mother and baby.

I am a dancing teacher and I did modern and ballet til the week before all dc were born. not belly dancing - tho I can't see any probs, go wiggle that bump!
I just avoided any exercises that contract abdominal muscles, for obv reasons, and took care not to over-stretch joints as the relaxin hormone makes you more 'flexible' but also more prone to potential injury. Am also convinced that it made all of my labours easy as i was still fit and kep good muscle tone.
