heart burn + milk

have monster heartburn (ate to much cake ) have no gaviscon but remember something about milk. cant remember though if it makes it worse or better - help please

Liquids reflux more easily than solids so tend to make it worse but milk is slightly antacid so can neutralise the sting a bit.

Personally, I found milk made it worse. Oatcakes helped, don't know why but they did!

have no oat cakes, will have to try milk. dreading the thought of lying down . have a pescription for gaviscon waiting at the drs so will get it first thing. bloody cake! was soooo good though

I found milk really helped, though the effect didn't last that long

Try custard! The Birds kind, quite thick. Worked for me, as much as anything. Also ginger tea reduces acid production.

milk works but it will flare back up within a couple of hours

i found that yoghurt ina tube helped for longer-oddly!

Milk was a godsend for me - I was drinking about 4 or 5 pints a day at the end of my first pregnancy.

It's just lovely for heartburn when it's cold straight from the fridge!
