Pre-eclampsia again - should I be expecting a Christmas baby now?

I had pre-eclamsia with ds1. Started at 36 weeks, he was delivered at 38.

I am now 33 weeks pg with ds2, and have had signs of possible pre-eclampsia for 2 weeks (protein in urine, rising bp). I've been given pee sticks to test at home, and the protein is always there, but only at level 0.3 (trace) most of the time (did get 2 readings of 1.0). Hospital blod test has ruled out a uti or anythin similar.

I saw my mw today, who said that she'd like to come and do a home visit on Monday, rather than wait until next Friday to see me. Should I be worried about this? Is she going to make me go into hospital for a c-section sometime soon? Is this normal? I didn't have any hom visits last time when pg.

If you were on the verge of having your baby delivered, you should be in hospital being carefully monitored - I think the fact they have let you go home and are not going to check you until Monday is actually a good sign. No one will be able to tell you whether you will

Don't forget to keep an eye open for any further symptoms - I'm sure you know them all, headaches, visual disturbances, sudden swelling esp on hands, feet and face, epigastric pain (under ribs) and contact mw immediately if any of them crop up. Best of luck. If it's any consolation (probably not!) my ds was born at 34 weeks due to pre-eclampsia and we were both absolutely fine after a little too much time hanging round the hospital...

Oops got distracted by phone call halfway through - that first paragraph was meant to say no one will be able to say for definite how the PE will progress from here, but it is very unusual to have it worse in a second pg (with the same partner).
