next have good ones, pretty reasonably priced

or dorothy perkins?

I'd try to find out what kind of waist she likes. I LOATHE the more fashoinable under bump style and like the less trendy big jersey panel. Much more comfy IMO! Next stock both (I think), they certainly do in black trousers as I just got some for only £20.

I think Gap does maternity clothes now - they might be worth a look?

I have two nice designer pairs in 10-12 listed on ebay ending soon (Earl and Seraphine), not new but very stylish...

Next, in my opinion have a really good range of maternity wear at a decent price. Nowhere near as expensive as some, also try the budget bumps website.

Dorothy Perkins do some nice ones and I also had a lovely pair of Mamas & Papas ones last pregnancy. They were sooo comfy - bit more pricey if i remember right - about 25-30 maybe.

I agree with tassis, try and find out what kind of waist style she'd prefer. I have 1 pair from H&M (big jersey panel and my far the most comfortable) and 2 pairs from Seraphine (skinny and bootcut both underbump)

For a present, and bearing in mind her age, she may like some skinnies from topshop, or if you are happy to spend more, all Seraphine jeans have very good reviews but they are a bit pricier. There are some very nice maternity jeans from such premium brands as 7 for all mankind, Earl Jeans, Juicy etc but for these you're talking around £100 and she may be as happy with a pair from Next! [Next ones always too short for me]

Hope this helps?

Thank you folks for all the info.

Have just found these on Vertbaudet.. seem like quite a bargain.

I was thinking of the comfy stretchy panel type as well as I always found them comfy and with twins they will prob fit her better longer/better than the below bump type..

At 21 and a size 10 is she really going to like the over bump style? I hated it at 31!! Get her to topshop and in some skinnies. They are really comfy and should last all the way through and after for a while if neccessary. If they are too dear, if she tries them on and sees which ones she likes, there are bound to be some on Ebay. This is an area not to scrimp on in order for her to feel good throughout her pregnancy at a young age. All the long/smock tops are prevalent in places like Primark, so you could save money on tops but spend it on the jeans. Sorry, I feel strongly about maintaining your style and personality while pregnant.

Suwoo, I know what you mean.. but she's having twins and I think comfort will be quite important to her in the latter stages.

I think the stretchy panel kind look ok anyway.. I wore them and I was pretty slim apart from the bump (which was huge). You cover the stetchy bit up don't you..

Yeah, I have no experience of twins, however in the latter stages she will be excused if she wears her trackies . While she is in the in between stage- fashion is important dahling. Forgive me for preaching, I was just thinking what was important to shallow little me

Gemy, how tall are you?!

I'm almost 6 foot and next ones fit me. Usually just long length, they do extra long in some styles too!

Peacocks have just started doing some cheap and trendy maternity clothes. The Jeans are fab.

imho, Next do the best ones, most reasonable at 20 whole earth pounds for the over the bump style. They come in a faded blue worn in colour, darker denim which are smarter, and black too i think. I too thought i would hate them but at 6 mths i was overjoyed to get myself into them - oh the comfort!! bliss , and im only having one baby so i bet she would be in comfort heaven if she is having two!

i didnt like over bump ones and if shes having twins will her bump not get to big for the material bit to go over? i ve got jeans from new look which start at £12 (bargin) and a pair of skinnys from topshop which are £40. if you buy topshop ones though i would get the next size up, im normally a 10 but the 12 are a perfect fit. have put on a stone though

H and M don't seem to be as good as they used to be and are more expensive IMO - but still v comfotable. I practically live in 2 pairs of stretchy trousers and both are from there. Next jeans are pretty good and I also loved a pair I bought from Peacocks but grew out of them very quickly- they seem to be quite small so might be better buying a bigger size than normal. If buying from Mothercare check the leg length as they vary hugely!
(I have bought and sold sooo many pairs of jeans/ trousers on Ebay it's unbelievable- my 2 faves are from when I was pg with dd 4 years ago!)

Oh and I really dislike under bump trousers, strecthy panel ones are so much more comfortable for me.. Alos guaranteed not to flash a bit of bump whenever you strecth!

Depends when she's going to start wearing them and how much bump she's got. I'm 21 weeks and have enough bump to want maternity but the over the bump jersey panel ones are way too big still. I like Dorothy Perkins adjustable waist jeans...mine were only 30 euros and are perhaps the nicest jeans I've ever had.

I know what you mean suwoo, when she is in her mid stage, she will want to look as fabulous as possible!

I suppose though it depends on what kind of look the girl on question usually goes for. Is she a comfort type? Or a fashionista type? The thing is, if you get some that are over-bump and not that attractive-looking, will she feel like she has to wear them? Maybe for her christmas present, make a voucher that says "one pair of maternity jeans" and then she can either tell you of pair she likes E.G web address etc, or you can go shopping together and see what you find?

After all, she will be spending an awful lot of time in these jeans, I think it's really important that she loves them!
