I'm only 4 weeks p. and usually have a jab due to being asthmatic.

Didn't I hear they were going to introduce it as standard for pregnant women anyway? So I think yes!

ooh blimey! I'm sure it was announced last year that from this year pg women would get it automatically - I was pg last winter so I remember thinking I would miss it.

Check with GP is the answer!

I asked my MW the same thing today - she said I shouldn't, and I'm 36 weeks.

I believe there are 2 types of vacine with diff base mixtures, one you can have and one you cant. Friend in the states just had hers (as standard over there) but assume it depends which type they are using in your surgery, only you GP could say yeah/neah.

I had one last year, I was due in April and had the jab in October, I was just over the 3 month marker.

They told me at the time that it was a personal decision, they cannot guarantee there is no risk at all, but then, you have to judge whether the benefits outweigh the risks, and I decided they did. Not sure I would have had it at just 4 weeks pg though tbh

No you can't have it. I had to have a pg test when I went for mine as I'm ttc and could have been pg. The nurse did a test there and then.

If I had been pg I couldn't have it.

I really think there is no definitive answer on this one, as I've said, my surgery were happy for me to go ahead and have the vacine both while pregnant and breastfeeding. I am quite sure that they would not have let me if it were against guidelines.

Thanks all, you think it would be a clear yes/no to everyone and the same jab for everyone, still they must have their reasons for it.
