I am 17 weeks pregnant, and I found out I was pregnant at 3 weeks pg. At two weeks pregnant, I DIDNT know I was pregnant, and went out with my friends to the pub, for a whole afternoon and night of drinkig. I was drunk. I dont know how much I drank, but I was definatly quite drunk, but not to the point of blacking out or forgetting what Id done or anything like that, I never get like that. This night was one of few and far between as I rarely go out to drink anymore. I was just wondering what, if any, affect this will have had on my baby, as there is so much conflicting advice out there. Some saying that before 6 weeks, no alcohol passes to the baby, and others saying to avoid at all costs.

I think you'll find a lot of us have been in this position. I went to a friend's wedding and got plastered before I knew I was pregnant; I told my GP and he said not to worry. Loads of my friends have had similar experiences and all of our children are fine. You can't turn back the clock, as they say, so try not to worry and congratulations!

Not only did I have too much to drink when I didn't realise I was pregnant, but I also had a stomach xray. DS came out fine!

Yeah, my doctor waved that one off too with a laugh. I think unless you're doing IVF, those "oh shit, what have I done?" moments happen to everyone.

Given the number of perfectly lovely, healthy children I know whose parents were wankered when they conceived, I think it's nothing to get concerned about.

You don't have a blood supply in common with the baby at that age. Don't worry about it. Huuuuuuge numbers of women do this when they don't know they are pregnant. It's not a problem.

I had the most plastered week of my life before I found out I was pregnant - friends up for a boozy weekend, boozy night out midweek and boozy wedding next weekened (where i woke up wearing my dress). I NEVER drink like that any more so was unusual (in case anyone thinks I am a big alco). Then found out i was preggers on the monday after the wedding.

Have decided not to work about it.

There was something in the press about this this week, basically saying that early binge drinking (and I don't mean that in a judgemental way ) won't do any harm. Sorry I can't remember what day that was on most GPs seem relaxed about early drinking sessions, they say there would be far less babies if it wasn't for alcohol. Try not to worry hon, sure your baby will be just fine

Yup me too, it was christmas and new year I was three sheets to the wind. I don't think you have anything to worry about. I was smoking back then too! I had soft cheese etc

Do you mean you were two weeks pregnant, or was it two weeks after conception? If you were two weeks pregnant, well, that is the moment of conception - it's not possible for the baby to have been harmed cos it wasn't even attached to your uterus! And even if it was two weeks after conception that is so early I think most people would have had a few drinks at that stage. It's normal to worry though

The week after I conceived (unbeknown to me at the time) I had a very boozy bbq for my bday which consisted of me drinking a box of red wine to myself and smoking 40 fags... then falling asleep in the garden until 4am on a coldish April night with just a pair of linen trousers and a vest with a little cardy on- no shoes.. suprising the little bean is now 30 weeks!
