you don;t have to pay to use an NHS birthing centre..

have you thought about a homebirth?

thanks lulumama, i have thought about home birth i have a big family and when they find out im in labour they will try and find any reason to get in my house when im in labour and this time i dont want that i would prefer a more laid back birth with just me and dp no other family there at the time, when i had just give birth last time i had my sil and dp`s brother just walk in the room then my sis then loads more family.i dont want that again so i would rather just go to a birthing centre or hospital,
sorry rant over

oh that is not good. but you don;t have to tell anyone you are in labour... people inviting themselves in whislt you are in labour is not very nice...rather than giving birth somewhere you don;t want to, explain that your birth must be private, and you expect your family to respect that...?

of course you can ! they can visit soon after but you should not have to endure having anyone with you in labour you do not want there. negative feelings in the birth room and a bad atmosphere can have a negative effect on labour, slowing it down, or stalling it, so important you feel comfortable, safe and secure.
