I am going to get sent to Coventry soon otherwise, I think

I have questions

does anyone know of, or have, a good vegetarian / vegan pregnancy nutrition book?

If I buy a new bra now will it cease to fit me in about a week?

Will I look vastly pregnant by Christmas? (I don't want my family to spot it)

pleeeeeeeeeeeeease come and indulge me

don;t buy a bra now, it will cease to fit in a week !

how good are your tummy muscles>

i was 10 weeks pregnant at xmas with DD, and i could have hidden it, but by 11 weeks, the game was up !

re nutrition, you eat really well, so don;t stress too much

take folic acid supplement until 12 weeks, and later on , take spatone to keep aneamia at bay

Witter away on any thread I am on - I am just pleased for you

Agree with Lulu - you will need to buy new bras on a weekly basis!

Wear a big sparkly floaty top (loads in the shops) and no one will know - unless you are usually a raving pi** head and are suddenly sipping orange juice

As for the Veggie books I can't help but I am sure other more enlightened MNetters will come and help.

You need dried apricots Franny

You're quite slim aren't you (your reputation precedes you) so you might be showing. Clever torso-concealing clothing could be called for. Or you could get DP to stand in front of you all the time, or place large objects between you and your relatives, or always be standing behind a waist-height counter, as though you are an actress in a sitcom who has recently got up the duff.

Vegan pregnancy website with lots of figures.

Do you have breastfeeding bras that you used in the few months post ds? Would they fit now or soon?

Thank you all, I thought everyone was going to politely look the other way and pretend not to have noticed yet more attention seeking threads

At christmas I will be erm, just over 12 weeks I think, something like that (hopefully anyway)

tummy muscles are quite strong but I am already a bit flabby round the middle

I really need a new bra quite soon, i needed one anyway and now things are starting to overflow

Tatties good advice, can you remind me why?

Oh well a bit of padding goes a long way in concealing a bump. In my first pregnancy, I didn't really show until I was about 6 months, and even then it wasn't dramatic. Mind you I have a freakishly long abdomen.

But, as Lulu says, the old stomach muscles can let you down a bit the second time around.

dried apricots are excellent for keeping bowels going as they can get sluggish in early pregnancy and to boost iron levels !

I think with DD2 I was a bit flabby around the middle at 12 weeks. Those smock still tops will be a godsend.

Don't buy new bra just yet, if I'm pregnant this time I'm going to buy underwires and not care, only for outside will wear preggie bras indoors a few hours of underwiring won't hurt too much.

Don't know about veggie pregnancy books, I've just always eaten well (which I know you do) and taken a pregnancy multivit (there are some suitable for veggies)

Congratulations

I have a Rose Elliot mother and baby book you can have if you want it. It has useful informaion, and recipes I actually used when I was pregnant.

If you can get hold of bra extenders they are very useful when you are bursting out of your new bra every three weeks.

Ohhh, it's so 'citing

No idea on 1

I reckon you'll be very lucky for them not to spot it at 12 weeks - do you only see them occassionally? Could you start dropping hints now about how much weight you're putting on?? Otherwise, think you'll be looking at some very, very unflattering clothing choices.

Apricots are top source of iron (if no-one's answered that one)

Huge congratulations!

I am 10 weeks today and not showing that much - which isn't bad considering this is no. 4. I am rather curvaceous anyway and I've been running all year so I'm fitter than usual. But there is a gloriously slim mum in DD1s class who is also 10 weeks and she is deffo showing!

If you're 12 weeks at Christmas, chances are you'll have had your scan - so why won't you be telling the family?

Bra - if you need one get one. You will get to wear it again next year on your way back down.

Veganism - can't help you there. I'm currently addicted to oranges, Pepsi and really big STEAKS. Sorry!

Congratulations

Re apricots: make sure they are the organic ones. The non-organic contain some preservative that can cause trapped wind. Organic ones great for a sluggish bowel!

FrannyandZooey · 30/10/2007 19:59

I don't reckon they'll have done a scan by then - hold on let me actually work it out

ok I will be 12 weeks on Christmas Eve - with ds they would not do the scan even 1 day before 12 weeks - and I don't reckon they are going to be doing scans either on Christmas Eve or during much of the week after Christmas, do you?

so odds are I will not have had a scan when I see them

I am going to look humongous aren't I? we are hatching a cunning plan to go away for the week after Christmas (when we normally go over to see them) and postpone it till the following week, or whenever I may have got scanned

what do I do now, btw? Do I tell someone I am pg? When do I get appointments and things?
