I had to use all the willpower I possess last night (not much). Bought a tub of gorgeous ice cream to eat while watching movie, got DS in bed, got settled, read ingredients and it contains egg yolks
I put back in the freezer, but of course couldnt stop thinking maybe it will be ok to eat so eventually had to put it outside in the bin!
It was probably a good thing as I am slowly turning into the side of a house and Im only 15 weeks
I just wondered was I correct in thinking we cant eat this while pregnant

I would eat it, but then I ignored most of the dietary advice when pregnant.

as long as it's made from pastuerised eggs, I would have thought it was fine to eat.

The only eggs I didn't eat were home made choclate mousse and home mad mayonnaise made with eggs from friend's hens. So no way were those eggs pastuerised.

I'd have eaten it, mind you I studiously ignored al the dietary advice, on purpose.

Probably, being paranoid, think I'll buy another tub today

Ooooh, interesting one. I've been checking icecream for pasteurised egg and sticking to it (Waitrose organic range is good) but it counts out Haagen Daas and Ben and Jerry's which my other pregnant friends have been eating by the bucket load. Answer is: I don't know!

I've been eating B&J's too, never even occurred to me it wouldn't be ok. I actually had eggs a few times with big fried breakfast on a long weekend break in August without thinking, we were staying on a small farm with B&B attached. It was only later when DD was feeding the chickens that it dawned on me!

I suppose its also bad to be worried about everything we eat!!
Not many pleasures left to us at the moment x
