Due a week today and I'm being gripped by waves of panic and fear - please speak reason to me!

I'm due to have my baby a week today by c section. I'll be 39 +1 and so far this pg has had a few 'complications' but nothing to really worry me. At this late stage I suddenly find I'm totally crippled with horrible thoughts of things going very wrong. It's keeping me awake at night and occupying my thoughts during the day. I'm not sure why this has started as I don't remember having similar with Dd1.
I'm not sure what I expect anyone to do or say but wondered if anyone else had this? How can I think positively? A week seems a very long way away at the moment!

You'll be fine.
Once you've doine it you will feel soooo proud of yourself.
It really is the best (albeit the scariest) thing you will ever do.

Relax and savour every minute of these last few days when, for the last time in your life, you only have to worry about you.

Thankyou, I know you're right. Maybe I will just have to try and keep my mind active with other things?! Dd1 not in childcare for the rest of the week so this should help!

It will be just fine, it is perfectly normal to feel so scared. When I had my cs I was so petrified I was puking right up to my epidural, strangely as soon as the epidural went in I calmed down completely.
Good luck for next week and just think of your gorgeous baby that you will be holding soon.

Yes, I think I'll be puking quite a lot . The amount of tears I've shed over the last week has been about twice as many as the first 37 weeks too. Dh doesn't know what to do with me!

Just think about getting rid of that heavy weight on your belly! I find that gets me through the thought of childbirth. Oh yeah and the thought that morning sickness will disappear!
