8 weeks and symptoms suddenly stopped ...am panicking

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same and has had a positive outcome...

I have had bad ms since 5 weeks, typically vomiting at least 5 times a day and being unable to function without eating constantly. However on Friday (8+2 weeks)this all stopped- very suddenly. I've felt 'normal' since which is really, really freaking me out. I've also had some mild back and abdominal pain, though if I was still feeling sick the pain isn't such it would bother me.

I had a missed mc back in Feb and the same happenned then so I am imagining the worst. Plus 8 weeks seems early for ms to stop.

Has anyone else had this yet gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? I'm trying to get some good vibes as it will be at least 24 hours til I can get a scan and I am home alone worrying!

MS can come and go, I know it certainly has for me in previuos pregnancies. The best advice is you can is enjoy feeling fine while it last as it will prebably be back in a couple of days but that is so much easier said than done.

It happened to me - stopped feeling sick (suddenly) at about nine weeks and then it started again about three days later, iirc. Am now nearly 23 weeks. Lots of people posted to say that I should appreciate it while it was gone and while I can totally see their point now, it was just very very stressful then. And a day is a VERY long time in early pregnancy.

I hope you are okay.

torres if you still have your other symptons?

In my first pregnancy I lost all my pregnanct symtons inc sore boobs and got all freaked out. I rushed home from work, had a lay down and by the time I woke up my boobs were sore and I was feeling sick (both of with were very welcome!) I think my body was just telling me to slow down so I made sure I relaxed from then on. Went on to have perfect baby girl.

On the same timescale as you, I suffered from extreme tiredness with ds1 from about 3-8 weeks and then was full of energy. In fact I had no pg symptoms at all until waist started thicking at 18w and bump at 24.

The back/abdo pain may well be implantation something I was very aware of with dd2 - which showed me that no two pgs are exactly the same.

Hope the scan reassures you that all is well. Let us know how you get on.

thank you all for posting, I really do appreciate it. Have just been having a few tears and stuffing myself with chocolate (and trying to stop MIL coming around to keep me company!)

Still have sore boobs so trying to hold onto that.

I will be so relieved to feel sick again!

If the boobs are sore then this is very good news [my midwife told me the boobs are the best indicator of all if other symptons dissapear]. Good luck for the scan.

Torres - I had bad sickness since 5 weeks and for one day only (at 8 weeks), it stopped very suddenly and I was OK for one day. The next day, I was back vomiting 5 times. I think it might be hormones reacting to the fact that this date should be your 2nd missed period. Hope this is the case for you.

Gemy- that's really reassuring (cue me spending the entire night prodding my boobs trying to work out just how sore they are!)

crokky- thank you, that's given me some hope.

I'm feeling emotional by everyone's kindness so hoping that it's the pg hormones swilling around!

just wanted to thank everyone that posted- am back from the EPU and everything is fine- so reassuring to see that heartbeat. Now just need to take a few deep breaths and try and keep calm for the next few weeks!

Am so, so pleased for you - just seen this thread! I am currently 10+4 (after a mc in July) & usually feel v sick on & off most of the day. I've had a couple of days here & there with no ms and then I just WISH for it to come back! (Then start moaning and feeling sorry for myself when it does...)

Can't win!

Congratulations on your pregnancy X
