I am only 8 weeks and am certain I have gone up a cup size. If I go out and get new bras now will I have to get new ones again in a couple of months???

No, they dont keep getting bigger and bigger, and never stop! But they do get bigger. Mine didnt with DS1, but have done this time round, and Im only 8 weeks too. Gone from a small C to a D in a couple of weeks.

Sadly you'll need to resign yourself to spending a fair bit on bras during pg. Well, I have anyway. I needed some new ones early on (around 8 weeks) and I've changed up a few sizes since then (I'm now 35 weeks). I'll need to fork out for nursing bras soon too.

Trick is to get well fitting but cheap ones if possible. Don't go crazy and get too many different ones in one size as they may only last a few weeks/months before you need a new size.

Thanks all. I better go shopping then but won't go too crazy.

Hi K,
Yeah, mine defintely expanded a lot in the first few weeks... unfortunately they also continued to do so until around 20 weeks or so - where they seem to have finally plateaued at around a 36F (was a 32D)

Bloody ridiculous, I'm only 5ft 2...

Bear in mind also that your rib cage will expand, so be prepared to go up in that department too.

My advice, buy ones with plenty of hooks at the back, and room in the cup to expand into - then you may be OK for the rest of your pg.

BTW, if your norks are huge like mine, M&S & Mothercare are bloody useless - no support whatsoever for larger sizes. Go to a decent department store instead... that would be my advice, born out of bitter shopping experience.

Good luck!

they stop when you get your milk come in after the birth basically. I think I went up four or five cup sizes first time round then they went back smaller than before, then this time round at 17 weeks pregnant i have gone up 2 cup sizes already and expect to gain a couple more.

I went from a 32A to a 34B and they seemed to have abruptly stopped at about 20 weeks. Huge growth spurt for me in the beginning (but anything past an A cup is huge for me!) and than nothing for the past 10 weeks.

Mine seem to still be growing! 3 different bra sizes so far!

I'm like Capecodder. I went from a B to a C cup and they've stayed the same size since. I'm now 34 weeks and no sign of further growth. Shame, as I was looking forward to having a cleavage for once in my life.
Ah well, I think I'll have to wait til my milk comes in until I get my impressive pair of boulders.
Do nursing bras have adjustable sized cups to accomodate growth?
