I just wondered if anyone thought it would be totally silly to do a bit of bodyboarding when i go on holiday to Feurteventura?? it would be for 30 mins or so on a couple of occassions, just for fun. i am 19 weeks pregnant, feeling fab, no health problems and rounded bump is sticking out nicely!!
thanks all..!! xx

hmmmm

depends how fit you are, if you have done it before, and the odds of you getting hit in the belly with another board

Ditto what lulumama said. Plus what size waves?

I didn't surf once I knew I was pg, but I'd already had to mcs and I'm not that good and tend to wipe out in spectacular style. I might have done some bodyboarding had I not felt so rough and been so blimmin' sick all the time, but I would have only gone in the shallows.

Mieow - personally I would not take the risk, under any circumstances - is it really worth the risk of receiving a nasty knock?

I think it depends on which is more important!

Bizarrely enough, I got an American maternity magazine yesterday from a friend living abroad - actually had a small article on this! Sorry the answer was no - for the board-hitting-tummy reasons I think.

Not worth it in my opinion - all might be fine or it might not be. Imagine if you twisted on a wave and put your back out, or even worse.

ok, i think you are right it would not be worth the risk. i will swim and sunbathe and laugh when dh falls off his board!!
