Pregnancy

Is it normal to feel low antenatally??

This is my fourth pregnancy - and I never felt this bad with the others. I am a regular but felt I had to change my name. I'm afraid I'm annoying the others on my antenatal group as it is on here so I daren't ask them.

I had mild PND with number 2, and a bit more with number 3 but never before they were born.

In hindsight I think I had depression both during and after pregnancy with DD but I think it was because she was unplanned. No depression at all with DS and he was planned. Don't know if that helps.

Sorry you're feeling so bad. There is such a condition as ante natal depression, and I suffered badly during my second pregnancy. I knew nothing about it at the time though, and suffered in silence because I felt terrible for feeling miserable at what should be a happy time.
I wish now that I had confided in one of the midwives or my doctor, and got some help & support before my DS was born.

I would urge you to have a chat to your midwife & let her know how you are feeling, and get some kind of support for yourself.

Good luck.

I had some wobbly times emotionally while pg. My midwife told me it is very very common to feel down, anxious, depressed etc during pregnancy, just not often talked about.

How many weeks are you?

I felt pretty low during the first trimester, even though pregnancy was very much wanted. I felt very tired and down and unsociable! I started to feel better when I got to about 16 weeks, i'm now 39 weeks and still feeling good.

I think its common to feel a bit low - makes sense with all the hormones flying around!

God I felt like shit at about 17wks when carrying ds. I hated being pg, hated my body, hated everything.
Felt much better by 3rd trimester.
I think its that middle bit where you cant see the end in sight is just torture.
Everything turned out fab, sure you'll be fine
