on the phone now trying to go to the EPU is a watery brown type discharge - small amount in nicks (tmi sorry)

am so worried and paranoid, esp as i'm not 100% on dates. m/w this week said to 'assume I was 8 weeks and if it's differnt from the scan to change it then'

what could it be? had 2 m/c's prior to DS

and DH is ment to be away today all week.

I had slight bleeding at 8 weeks (same, watery and brown). It sometimes happens around the time your period is due. I had an early scan and discovered twins (!) but don't think this was the reason for the brown discharge.

Good luck, if it stays just brown and not bright red you should be ok. Fingers crossed for you.

i had bleeding at what i thought was 7 weeks but was dated as 6, all was fine and they couldnt find a reason for this. Is there anywhere you can go for a private scan, i rang in the morning at got in a 10.00 that day ?

Good Luck x

Thinking of you Pipsqueeke and really hoping its all ok.

Pip - take a deep breath, and then take another. I know how frightening this is as I have had it myself (and everything was fine).

The general rule is that brown is ok as it is old blood. It's more worrying when it is red and accompanied by cramps. Some sort of bleed (old or even new) is quite common when your period is due and a lot of MNers have had this and gone on to have healthy babies.

If you are really concerned, try phoning A&E as you can be referred for a scan from there.

Really hope you are ok.

I also had bleeding at 8 weeks with all my pregnancies. It continued for a while, on and off. I believe it happened mainly when I would have had a period. Brown blood is a hopeful sign. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. X

I had bleeding for 6 weeks on and off this time - sometimes quite red too. About 8 weeks.
Got appt at GPs who sent me for scan the following day - all was ok had a further scan 2 weeks later and could find no reason for bleeding.
All been fine - fingers crossed for you.

When is your EPU appt? Got everything crossed for you. Really hope it is good news. I had a check by doc the day before my early scan and they couldn't tell anything either way (she felt my abdomen and did an internal examination).

Pip - the fact that you can't get a scan until tomorrow tells me that they are not worried. Fingers crossed it will stop soon. Mine lasted for about 12 hours.

this happened to my sister at the time her period would have (TMI but after they had had sex)

Brown and no pain are both good signs.

Best wishes.

agree with beansprout if your doc had been at all worried he would have sent you straight to the hospital.

Mine wasn't after sex either , just completely out of the blue but it stopped again pretty quickly, then came back three days later and stopped again after a few hours. Good luck for tomorrow.
