Should baby kicking feel quite so uncomfortable?

Justa quick query... I'm nearly 28 weeks pg and on ocassion the kicks I feel are quite uncomfy- not painful, but they do sometimes make me catch my breath iyswim! Also often get a tight pressure feeling over my left hip, very strange and I don't remember any of this from dd1, but then again I may have forgotten!
Anyone experience anything similar?

yep, esp when kick directed at diaphragm or lungs. The 'tight pressure' seems to come from the baby doing a slow stretch out rather than a sudden kick.
The uncomfortable-kick periods seemed to come in fits and starts , so there'd be a few days when the baby was in an awkward position, or had had a growth spurt and was waiting for uterus size to catch up, then it would calm down again as the bump expanded to make more space for it...

Yes Honor, sometimes ds would kick me and make me catch my breath as it was so uncomfortable - particularly when he caught me under the ribs if I was lying down - enough to make me jump in shock!

Ahh, that sounds about right! Thank you! I think I have a 'lazy' baby then, because the slow stretch sensations are way outnumbering the obvious kicks!!

I feel broody.....

I remember the tight pressure feeling, it sounds like baby likes stretching a lot! Ds was like that with me

I had alot of pressure on hips turned out he was lying tranversely, across rather than head down. But 2 weeks later felt massive movement which nearly made me sick and he was back 2 head down

Yeah i have some really uncomfortable kicks.
It's my 3rd preg but don't think i'll ever get used to having my organs kicked from the inside!!!
Esp when baby stands on my cervix... ouch!
