Paranoid moment – don’t feel pregnant any more

I know, it?s silly but I just don?t. The first trimester was awful, I had the works. Now at 14+5 the symptoms have pretty much gone apart from being very tired and that feeling you get when you?ve been ill but are better ? you know, when you?re not quite better and a bit fuzzy. All of that, I know, is normal.

I think where part of the problem is, is that everyone else at my stage is now comparing bumps. I?m a size 22 so realistically not expecting a bump till about 28 weeks! But I thought if I prodded round a bit I would be able to feel it, even though I couldn?t see it. But I can?t feel anything even though I?m prodding till it hurts.

It really worried me as when I went for my 12 week scan, LO was only measuring 49mm. Sonographer didn?t seem fussed but from what the books say, it should be a lot bigger than that. So, the upshot is, I?ve convinced myself LO has stopped growing.

I know it?s crazy and I?m seeing my MW for the first time on Thursday so I?ll mention it but I just need someone to tell me I?m being silly!

Sorry for the long waffling post. This is my first and I have no idea what to expect.

Try not to panic - some people hardly show at all, and I'm referring to all shapes and sizes, not just the fuller lady. Hopefully your midwife will be able to give you some reassurance on Thursday though.

i wouldnt fret so much....its supposed to be easier in the second trimester, and u should enjoy it cos the third is a pain in the arse. the midwife should be able to pick up a heartbeat when u go for ur appointment. and in about three to 4 weeks ull be feeling ur lil baby having a kick around in there

don't worry you should be feeling better now. Some peolpe don't show very early-my friend had nothing really at 5 months! I was green with envy!
I hope your midwife can reassure you.

I know what you mean Sarah!! I'm also a size 22 and still dont really have a noticeable bump, except to those who know me!

It does seem a little bit surreal after the sickness etc has gone and you do wonder if there really is a little person inside you, despite having had scans etc.

Dont worry tho. When your waist starts to thicken and your tummy starts to harden, you'll realise that there actually IS something growing in there! If the sonographer wasn't bothered, then it's obviously nothing to worry about. You cant really go 100% by what a text book says as no one is a text book! They are just there for guidance and are not the law!

Chin up, i'm sure everything is fine. Wait til you hear the heartbeat!!

If it's your first don't expect to feel baby move for at least another month. Even then it won't be any sort of regular movement for a while.
It's quite normal to stop having pg symptoms in the second trimester, like sickness. I'm sure everything will be fine

Sarahjct - this is my first, and I'm 16+4 and I've only been able to feel anything (no sign of a bump at all) in the last week or so.

I'm not expecting it to look bump-like for a LONG time yet!

I panicked like mad as well between my scan and my last MW appointment, but I'm much happier now I've heard the heartbeat
