when did you feel your baby move?

I'm 17 + 5 and don't think I've felt the baby kick yet - should I be worried? I felt dd move (like bubbles popping) just before 19 weeks but thought that you are supposed to feel subsequent pregnancies earlier?

I've felt a vague sensation a few times but it really could have just been gas. I'd really like the reassurance of an unmistakable movement!

I didn't until after 20 weeks with any of mine! You apparently feel it earlier with consecutive pregnancies but I'm on number 4 and it was still after 20 weeks!!

that makes me feel better - thank you! Does weight have any bearing on it, do you think? Like, I've read that a woman carrying extra weight may feel it later than a slimmer woman - more padding and all that I guess - what do you think?

I'm pg with my first and didn't feel anything until some time after 20 weeks (my scan was at 21 weeks and hadn't felt it then). I'm not sure when as I'm not overly padded (or at least, wasn't then , a fairly steady size 10) - sonographer did mention that you often don't notice it if you're out and about doing other things - although I think most people are??!?

Anyway, now 28 weeks, and it seems to be party central in my innards several times a day!

I've heard the 'extra padding' theory as well - apparently it also depends where the placenta is as if it's anterior (ie on the front wall of the womb) it can dull the sensation of movement for a bit.

Aha, that explains mine then as I got told anterior placenta at scan.

I'm not sure if the weight thing makes a difference or not as it's inside that you feel it anyway. I definately agree that you notice a lot ledss movements if you are out and about doing other things. I always get paranoid about the 10 kicks in 12 hours or whatever it is but I don't really notice anything throughout the whole day until I finally sit down at night!

I felt the first kicks and movements at 16 weeks. I don't think that you need to worry about not feeling kicks/movements until much later on. Relax and enjoy your pregnancy
