Have you tried any nipple creams as they might help ease any pain? Theres one called Linosoh or something like that you can get in boots/ mothercare. Mind you its about £10. I got Mothercare own one and that works well.
Hope you can sort it out. x

Hi Hayley2u, glad to know it's not just in my head. It has only just started today, was a liitle sore this morning, but has got worse while I have been at work today. It's horrible. I'm the same, I keep touching my bust to try and help ease it, very embarrasing

Thank you princesspowersparkle, I'll pop in to the shop on my way home to see if I can find some of that Linsoh.
I'll try anything at the mo.

Hi Molly,
I am new to the boards here - I am just 6 weeks pregnant (I think - I just found out and have not been to the doctor yet, going tomorrow).

I am at work today and my left nipple is putting me in absolute agony - waves of sharp pain - making it very difficult to concentrate!

Did the Linsoh work? I will run out and buy some now if that will make it stop!

Thanks.

I used to get this when it was cold (before I got pregnant)and then really badly in the first trimester. I still get it badly now and again, but not as constantly as before.

I find the best way is to try and stay / get as warm as possible - wrap yourself up in blankets, get the duvet on the sofa etc - thats the only thing that I found worked.

Ooh also going to sit in the car on a warm day was great as well, especially if it happened at work

Hiya Bools,
The nipple cream did help a little. I got some of those cool breast pads from Mothercare, which really helped cool my nipple right down, and helped with the discomfort. They are reuseable also, which helps as you can keep them for when/if BF.

It's horrible isn't it, very painful and really odd that like me you only have it in one nipple.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Sorry for not replying sooner - thank you so much for the brilliant advice.

It's totally strange, but it only happened that one morning, and hasn't happened since!

I guess I should consider myself v lucky...?

Thanks again

i had terrible pain in my left nipple in my first two trimesters, particularly if I was cold. It was like it was extra erect and it really hurt. I found a hot water bottle or any source of gentle heat helped soothe it. I went skiing in March at 15 weeks and several times resorted to those gel packs that warm up when you snap a metal disc in them as I sat on a chair lift!

HI - I Had to join thread as I was looking for someone to say I wasnt alone in this. When I walk to work everyday my left nipple is agony - like it's on fire!! Apparently my mum suffered too and thinks its the hormones, but i wasn't sure if I should get it checked out! It's really strange as it only lasts for 10 minutes every day and then goes.

Hi Gingernut88, just saw this thread again on the board so thought I'd have a look

I know it is awful, I haven't had it much since the first time, but just recently it has started up agin, I'm 28+3 now and think it is probably because of those 3rd trimester hormones kicking in.

Hope your feeling better with it soon.

xx
