PLEASE tell me that there's someone else whose bump makes an occasional clicking noise...?

Happened last year too but dd2 was sb at 34 wks so dh is worried in case there's some sort of connection (post mortem came back with nothing so we're extra paranoid at the moment, esp as I've just hit 29 wks).

None of the relevant professionals I'm dealing with seem to have any experience of this and haven't heard the click as I can't trigger it, unlike, say, getting bump to kick. Must add that dh has heard it too so I know I'm not going mad.

Thanks

Blimey, I haven't heard of that before. Sorry can't help but I'm sure all is well although it is totally understandable that you are concerned.
Good luck with your last 11 weeks!

It's very distinct. Last year, sounded a bit like a bic pen being tapped against a table top, this time seems to be a bit louder.

Ooh yes - happened to me and I was most relieved to find a thread on here about it. Will do a quick search.

My (very experienced) midwife was most bemused. I thought I was going mad until dh heard it too.

Very sorry to hear that you suffered a sb. I only had it with my second pregnancy and all was fine.

sorry to hear you had a sb DD2. you must be very worried about this pregnancy and every niggle and twinge....

i have heard of a clicking bump, but don;t know why it happens

don;t think it means anything sinister

If you go to 'search messages' and put in "clicking noise pregnancy" there seem to be loads.

Willywonka..had exactly the same thing with all 3 DDs. Not once did I manage to get it to happen in the presence of a midwife, just got v strange looks whilst trying to describe it.

I heard the occasional click (but now bizarrely I can't remember if it happened in both pregnancies or just one - I think it was in both). Again, I had never heard anyone mention it so first few times thought I was just being mad, then my partner definitely heard it too. My doctor looked disbelieving and said he'd never heard of it. No idea what it was, both born healthy - although both had meconium - the sound of a baby pooing? To me it really did sound like a "pop" like a bubblewrap pop almost.

Have you said to the doctor at all?

I'm seeing the Consultant again next week so will definitely mention but was in overnight with dd2 at 31 wks having woken up with abdominal pains and just had blank looks all round when I told them about it.
