Pregnancy

Due Date..

Hi, I am coming up 29 weeks pregnant, but I have been wondering whether all the dates would definitely be correct.. You see, I had irregular periods but think that I had one around the 1st - 4th November 06... altho I couldn't be sure. I then had sex on 17th November (which I guess would be prime time for conceiving as it's a couple of weeks after... if I remembered my period correctly). 3 weeks after that, around 9th December.. I had sex again. I had felt rough before that as I'd caught a cold, and I was getting some cramping feelings which I thought were the next period on it's way).

I found out I was pregnant on December 19th, which was only 10 days after the second time and the test was really definite with high HCG level.

I had my 12 week scan (going by the first date), and the due date they gave me matched exactly to the first date.

Since then, I've had my measurements done and I was 24cm at 24 weeks and so on..

I know everything seems to point to the first date (3 weeks before the second date), but is there a chance I could still be due later on? I wonder about this because of the cramping feelings I had 3 weeks after I'd had sex and about 5 weeks after when I think my period was. I think I could have been having the cramps due to already being pregnant when I had sex again.. but as I just thought it was my period starting I am unsure whether I could've got pregnant at that point instead - basically right on top of when I should've been due a period if I wasn't already pregnant!

Sorry this is all rather complicated!! It's just that 3 weeks is quite a difference to my due date... x x

I think your midwife will know by your measurements

If all meaurements etc are matching the first date then it should be pretty certain thats when you became pregnant.

your EDD is just that, an estimated due date

only around 5% of babies arrive on that date

the vast majority arrive in the two weeks before or after

if you are measuring the same as the number of weeks, and your scan confirmed it ( 12 weeks scan tends to be a bit more accurate in terms of dating a pregnancy) , then that date is probably correct.....you may have ovulated at an odd time, especially if your periods are irregular
