This is really grossing me out - sorry for sharing but quite desperate to know if it bothers anyone else..

Am having bouts of ms. Its mostly just lots of chokey wretching. My whole body kind of spasms and simultaneously I piss myself.

I have one dd - thought my pelvic floor was ok (did me kegels). Never had any down there dribblys before. Is this the start of the road to tena lady? Help!!

Hello ejb - did it all go OK the other day?

This happened to me a lot when I was sick during my second pregnancy. I once simultaneously vomited and pissed myself in a hospital waiting room while waiting for a antenatal checkup. Fab. Was I glad that they had wipe-clean chairs. The relaxin hormone basically turns your pelvic floor to mush while you're pregnant. So long as you do your kegels, you'll be fine in the long run.
In the meantime, wear pantyliners and take spare clothes if you're going out!

Hi ejb - just to point out that most pg's carry a 1% m/c risk and 1 in 75 is only 1.3% so not much greater than the usual risk.

PS - I'm alright at the minute, but definitely had slight incontinence last time. It's horrid, isn't it?

Cheers rowan and mumpbump

mumpbump - dyou reckon that when odds of 1 in 300 are given out for cvs (that Nicklai chap in London - St Charlottes??) its not taking that factor of spontaneous mc into account? Or is my provincial cvser not as good? Its such a minefield.

And back on topic - glad I've only had these little bursts at home. Least my bathroom floor is getting washed more often than normal (erm.. by a proper clean afterwards I mean. I know wee is sterile and all that but nevertheless.. )

I don't know. That is a very good question! I don't know how they could prove definitively that the amnio or cvs actually caused the subsequent m/c. At best, I would have thought they could only say there was an increased risk from the usual 1% to 2%/3%. I can't remember the exact wording of the literature I've read. If you ask and get this clarified, would you let me know?
