Better luck with MS third time around?

I am 5wks pg with my 3rd...and hoping for a reason to be optimistic about MS. I was REALLY sick with my first 2 pregnancies (constant nausea/throwing up 4-10 times a day/ IV fluids to combat dehydration) until 16 weeks with DD#1 and 18 with DD#2. Has anyone had the experience of having a pregnancy without severe MS after suffering through it in previous pregnancies she asks hopefully? I'll probably know my destiny in a few days, but am trying to be positive and hope for at least a shorter run if it does start again.

K

Would love to be positive - but have to say that i've just had my third and the morning sickness I suffered was indeed just as bad as with the first two.

The reason i'm replying to you - it not to depress you... but to say the best advice i can give you is to prepare to be out of action and organise friends/family to step in.

I don't know how old your other 2 are - mine are 9 and 7 so at least were at school all day - but i got so bad again and the anti-emetics did sweet FA... i couldn't have managed without a fair amount of support.

If you get yourself organised now you may be pleasantly suprised if you are better this time, but at least if you're not your family will still be able to function.

Good luck... fingers crossed you're better this time!

Thanks, I know you're right. Problem is, I have a 3yr old and a 1 yr old...and no support. We moved to the country less than a year ago and just don't have much of a network. DD will be starting nursery next month, which is good. Thanks for the practical tip! I appreciate the honesty.

Just as an extra thought... why not investigate acupuncure/reflexology. If i was ever mad enough to try for a fourth i would be tempted to start it b4 symptoms reared their ugly head - which for me was about week 6 until week 16.

I really tried everything else - homeopathy, wrist bands, ginger everything, eating different foods, preggie pops, anti-emetics from gp... nothing worked for me and i couldn't avoid the drip for a few days...

However, i have heard a few positive things about acupuncture or reflexology so it may be worth considering. If you feel as wretched as I did it may be the answer! You'd feel incredibly pleased if it helped!

I think acupuncture is about the only thing I haven't yet tried...but I have heard it has helped some people. So, it is definitely worth looking into. Anything to help keep me from being completely incapacitated for the next few months!
