HOW THE HECK AM I SUPPOSED TO SIT, eh?? eh??

I'm 38+5 with DS2.

I've got SPD so I'm not supposed to sit with my legs apart.

But my baby is "threatening" to be OP. So I'm supposed to sit straddled over the back of a chair and absolutely not supposed to sit with my feet up.

But if I don't sit with my feet up, I get really swollen ankles....

Gaaah - I just can't win! As a result, I'm just spending all day buzzing around so I don't have to make the decision about which way to sit (leaning forward on birth ball not working either as tits rather tender).

Bear in mind that I probably have 25 mins total sitting down time in any 24 hour period. Any hints and tips???

sit how you need to, but spend half an hour on your hands and knees a couple of times a day.

I was in the same predicament, but by doing that i managed to get DS almost the right way round.

IS there any way you can get access to a hammock? And be in it face down for a while? That would be, feet up and bump not squashed...
Other than that, try a visit to the local swimming pool because being in water takes the weight off everything.
Best of luck

SO glad you asked this Special! Have spent weeks trying to find way to sit - it doesn't help we only have awful 70s low bucket sofa or office chair. Now noticing puffy ankles (wonder if I should worry about this?) so trying to find way of elevating them without putting pelvis in 'bad' tilted-back possie. FFS! Hammock? I WISH.

Can't help agreeing on your hammock comments.

Thanks for help everyone. I did actually manage to rest a bit this weekend and found a good position wedged between sofa and coffee table so supported from both ends on all fours.

But when DH goes back to work tomorrow, I suspect i'll be on my feet from dawn to night as usual. Ho hum. How I long for my "on the sofa eating bon-bons" first pregnancy!

good question!
I have to say I was wondering how we were supposed to have knees lower than hips, AND feet higher than heart.................it's hard enough zipping up boots/fastening shoe laces without any more contortions!

wedged between sofa and coffee table? sounds painful! I'm no good at all fours either. I get bored and have to squirm after 5 minutes...

I spent a long time on all fours

I had a large beanbag which I knelt in front of, with my bump resting in the beany bit.

A bit hard on your knees though, so I had to kneel on a pillow as well.
