Pregnancy

Constant hunger

I'm 10 weeks pregnant and for the last week or so I have been ravenously hungry. I can eat a full meal and within the hour my stomach is audibly growling with hunger. I have tried smaller snacks throughout the day but they don't touch the sides. I am probably eating twice the amount I would pre pregnancy and whilst I am tryimg to listen to my body I am terrified of gaining loads of weight. Anyone else having the same problem?

Exactly the same, 9 weeks today. Famished all the time. If I'm not eating I'm nauseous.

Such a pain in the arse. Have tried to buy lots of things to snack on that aren't massively unhealthy. No crisps/sweets in the house.

Normal!!

It should settle after the first trimester. I could not believe how much I ate from about six weeks in. Full meals plus meals in between for snacks.

Perfectly normal. I was starving all the time with DD(4) and eating like a horse but actually lost weight (gained a small amount overall but my arms, legs, bum and face all went skinny). A few weeks after DD was born and I'd lost all the fluid, I was 10kg lighter!!! So don't worry, you're hungry cos your body needs it. Just try to eat healthy-ish stuff, not tons of junk.

It's really normal for some pregnancies! I didn't with my first but second time from 10-15 weeks ish I could put away 6 slices of toast and jam as a snack between meals and it barely touched the sides! I'm not normally a very big eater.

I'm not as far along as you but Im eating all the time - it's the only way I don't feel sick. I find I can't tell if I'm full, hungry or sick!!!

Glad to hear it isn't just me! I had nausea for a couple of weeks between 6-9 weeks where I just grazed all day but small quantities. Now the nausea has mostly passed and I just want to eat large volumes! Glad to hear it passes...if I hadn't had an early scan I'd be convinced its twins!

Oh I was ravenous for the entire first trimester - it's incredible really that no one in work commented on the fact I was eating constantly. Literally just shovelling in ritz crackers constantly.

If you're hungry, just eat and don't worry about it. It'll pass and it'll all even out in the end.

Yup! And it was all bad stuff too like pasta and bread - which I never ate before getting pregnant. I did put on some weight at the start, but I lost it in the second trimester. X
