Moving around but not kicking

I'm 37 weeks today and noticed that I've been feeling baby move and get into all sorts of weird shapes but not feeling many kicks. Should I be worried or is it common for them to slow down and just move around towards the end?

There is less room at 37 weeks so they can't do the huge kicks like earlier on.
However if you are concerned ring your midwife or the maternity unit for reassurance. They would rather you rang and it be nothing than you not ring at all.

The movements will change as they get squished but you should always feel.tge same amount of movement.

Any change in pattern of movements etc is worth getting checked out and movements should not slow down towards the end.

Any concerns call your delivery unit and get checked out.

Look at the kickscount campaign. They have fb page and website for info on babies movement etc.

But it's always best to get checked over just to set your mind at rest.

I certainly found this to be true at around 39 weeks however I also went in to the maternity unit for them to monitor baby and check everything was OK (it was).

If you think baby has slowed down or changed patterns of movement then that is what I would recommend you do too as the midwives prefer to check and it be nothing than to ignore a problem.

Hope everything is fine Smile

Your baby is curled up and squashed now you will feel a lot of stretching and pushing. I am 36 weeks and have this too. If you are worried ring your midwife or maternity ward. It it is normal for the movements to feel different but there should still be as many of them

Thank you all. I've had something to eat and bump seems to have perked up. She's definitely running out of space in there. Still plenty of movement but as you have all said it's changed from big kicks. Will see how she goes tonight and poss go to ward to be monitored tomorrow for peice of mind

I haven't felt kicks for a while now and I'm only 34+3 (however he is huge, was nearly 6lb at 32 week scan lol). I just get some very uncomfortable stretching and pushing!

Yeah I know what you mean. I feel like she is going to break out of my skin. I don't think my tummy can stretch anymore haha
