Can I ask about pre-eclampsia?

I'm 36+5, with 3rd DC.

Feeling really nauseated and have thrown up a few times over past week but also have a cough which could be causing the sickness.

Slight swelling around ankles noticed at about 11:30pm last night, not excessive by any means. No swelling elsewhere.

No headache but feeling a bit dizzy and spacey (could be the sickness).

Baby's movements not reduced but weaker than usual over past 24hrs.

Haven't seen a midwife since 28 weeks as I never had a number for her direct and leaving messages with the GP surgery she's based at, she never gets back to me.

Obviously I know it's best to go and get any concerns checked out, but, I know if I call hospital they'll tell me to go straight up, which is fine, except that I'm on my own with DS (2) until about 6pm tonight and have no-one else at all who could have him. Obviously taking him isn't really an option. He doesn't have a pram anymore and would run riot.

What I really want to know is whether these things seem like an immediate thing to worry about, as in seek medical attention now, or if it could wait until this evening?

Always get checked. Take the two year old, he may well run riot but it's not worth waiting.

When I was diagnosed at 37 weeks I had no idea I had it. It's too dangerous not to get checked out , a simple wee test will tell you if there's protein in your water and they can take it from there, good luck

You will always get the same answer from the Internet when it comes to pregnancy advice: get checked whatever your concern. That is because no-one will want to tell you over the Internet that it isn't pre-eclampsia!

I was diagnosed in labour. No terrible symptoms but had mild swelling of the hands and feet and high bp that was missed by the midwife.

I'd go in now. Don't worry about the disruption DS might cause. This isn't something you can delay on.

Go in, I had to do this lots with a 2 year old running riot and if anything it will make them see you quicker! It's a case of a quick blood test and taking your blood pressure.

Thanks for the replies, obviously I was going to go regardless, just wondered if it was one of those things where if it was an issue, a few hours waiting would make it more of an issue, if that makes any sense. Have called the hospital and am on my way in with DS.

Sorry Mummy I hadn't seen your reply, yes all was fine in the end, think I've been hyper-sensitive to spotting symptoms after knowing two people in a short space of time having pre-eclampsia sneak up on them.

Glad all was ok.
