Pregnancy

13 weeks and feeling miserable

Hello all :)

Looking for some moral support/reassurance that it'll get better!

I am 13+1. I have felt nauseous, exhausted, hormonal and grumpy since about 5 weeks. I'm tired of it now. The nausea is 24/7.

I'm managing to eat but it's forced. I've just had to come home from work because I feel light headed. I'm having a good cry.

Please tell me it gets better - I had been pinning my hopes on magically feeling better around 12 weeks but if anything I feel worse!

It does get better. I felt similar but it's all true, it really does pass :).

Hello nancy!

No reassurance that it will get better (although it does) but some
Company.

I am 11 weeks with dc 2. I woke up this morning in floods of tears for absolutely no reason. Ended up staying off work which seems ridiculous.

Knackered, nauseous, emotionaland just thoroughly fed up.

I am desperate to get to my scan next week so I can say "I am unduffed and I would like to sit on my fat arse, thank you"

Dc1 all this went at 14 -16 weeks. By 16 weeks I think I was on top of the world. Glowing.

Thank you SharpLily for the reassurance, it's appreciated :)

Passmethecrisps - it's rotten eh. I feel awful about coming home from work too, feel so guilty!! I feel your pain, all of it!!!

I was assured that ginger biscuits would help. Barfed them. Can't look at ginger now!!

Ginger biscuits my arse!

I didn't feel like this with dd but then I had less to do and I worked out that 2.5 months of my pregnancy was on holiday from work so I was never far from a nice long rest.

Can you eat much at all? I have been a fiend for salt and vinegar crisps and sandwiches. It is all I want to eat.

I am looking forward to having evenings with dh again and enjoying a meal.

Indeed!!!

I am forcing myself to eat. Don't fancy anything that isn't beige - salt and vinegar crisps are a fav of mine too, and bread. Can't face any meat at all, so concerned I may be getting a bit anaemic!

Do you have any holidays coming up this time? Must be hard work having another dc to look after too - we have my dsd 50\50 and I don't think I could cope with much more!

Oh, and enjoying a meal - definitely!! I went for a mooch around Waitrose the other day with the view to getting myself whatever I fancied. Came out with crisps and cried.

Oh Nancy. I could have written your post 6 months ago (I'm 37 weeks today)

I was fortunate that my nausea don't translate to vomiting frequently but wondering around Waitrose with permission to eat anything? Yup. Did that. Cried.

My nausea was bizarrely helped by a swig of gaviscon. My stomach was so empty that I was developing acid indigestion and that was making my nausea worse. I was getting stuck in a cycle.

Are you taking multi vits in the evening?

Hey Smile
I'm sorry you are feeling crappy. I had the same thing up until 20 weeks and then again at 30 weeks up until birth. Nausea and vomiting, it's so debilitating! It's all so worth it when you are holding that beautiful child in your arms. I was worried i wasnt taking enough nutrients in so i took pregnacare max every day. Totally recommend it as my little boy was healthy and 9lb 2oz. God knows how since I had Nausea and vomiting for majority of my pregnancy. Hang in there! It doesn't last forever Flowers

Thank you all so much for your advice and support!

I went to my gp this morning who was great and said I may be anaemic and prescribed me cyclizine.

My iron levels were excellent at my booking appointment so I doubt it's anaemia, but who knows!
