Me. It's very gentle and involves wallowing around in warm water (ours was in the toddler pool) meeting other pregnant mums. Great if you like warm water - and our midwife made us cocao and cakes afterwards, on the grounds that we might be tired! Best TLC I had, whilst pregnant!

I went with dd1
with the others I just went swimming on my own and liked that far better

if you've ever done any swimming exercise classes its really no different - running in water, swishing around, marching that sort of thing

Sounds good. I can go from 18 weeks but I hear there's a waiting list so wanted to be organised

Well I went yesterday. Thought it would be all floaty-relaxy but it turned out to be a reasonable work out. Really enjoyed it

I really enjoyed it - took the weight off and you felt like you'd had a good work out. Take water in with you though. Had to stop going as my BP went up and up and up.

I went to one. I couldn't help laughing at all those roly poly women (myself included) in swimsuits like beached wales.

I enjoyed being with other wales and the water took the weight off my bump. I think anything which allows you to focus on you and the baby, and to hang out with women in the same boat, is a good thing.

Mine wasn't ante-natal so I was the only roly poly there!

I went to a (non-pregnant) aquarobics class once, many years ago. They held it in the deep end and you were given floats to tie to your ankles and wrists to keep you buoyant so you could just "hang" vertically in the water. But I was ultra-buoyant anyway (too roly-poly) and with the floats on could NOT keep legs under water. So had choice of lying star-shaped on surface of pool, or ditching leg floats and treading water enough to keep me afloat at the same time of doing exercises. I opted for treading water, did the class fine for about 45 mins, then did a few lengths swimming feeling great. Forgot though about weight supporting properties of water, and when i got out I almost sank to the floor as my poor legs were truly done in! Am planning on joining the aqua natal class soon, but very glad to see they do it in shallow end.

I remember going to aquanatal classes when I was having DS1 and I loved it (many years ago). Sadly it looks like we don't have any sessions at any of our local pools
