EDD adjusted following scan, so how many weeks am I?

By my LMP I am 10+6 days. I had a scan which measured baby at 11+6 days, and my EDD was adjusted. So...how many weeks can I say I am? I feel like a bit of a fraud saying I'm 11+6 when I'm only 10+6 in my mind.

They put me a week forward at my 12 week scan, but I know 100% when I conceived so have just stuck to my dates.

It's difficult to get accurate dates at scans. Go with what you think is right!

I'm 19 weeks tomorrow with my dates but 20 weeks today with the hospital dates.

Your scan is the date they'll go by officially so go with that. If you need to be induced etc then the date given by the dating scan you've just had is what they'll be basing it on.

If the scan put you 11+6 then that's what you are! They out mine forward 8 days and although I'm 100% sure on my dates I'm still going by their dates. No point telling people you're a week behind and then making it confusing at antenatal appointments. I was personally happy to lose a week! It's based on babies size so it's good baby is growing well and better bugger than smaller I think smile

Thanku everyone. I will go by the scan then! Which is wonderful news.

We have a history of recurrent miscarriage, so we have had 3 scans already. At 2nd scan I was 8+5 by dates but baby measured 9+2. When we had 3rd scan yesterday, midwife asked me how far along I was. I said 10+5 (by dates) and she checked notes and said 'oh no, you are actually 11+2 from last scan'. And I was baffled because I was still going by dates thinking that was how it was done. And then baby measured bigger again, at 11+5 & the midwife was elated for me and congratulated me for nearly reaching the end of first trimester. I was a bit blown away, it's wonderful news as I lost one at 11.5 and I suspect that baby died at around 9-10 weeks. So to jump ahead one week and reach that milestone is wonderful news for us.

But when I got home I then felt worried that I was getting ahead of myself and perhaps I should still be going by my dates rather than the scan. Didn't want to lull myself into a false sense of security. I know it's still early days but to get past that milestone is a big deal for us. I'm really relieved!! ☺️

My dates were put forward 3 days so by their dates I will be 35 weeks on Tuesday but I won't be until Friday. So I seen my midwife on Fridays and she said I was 34+ and I said no just 34 lol

My dates have been put forward by 2 days, not a big deal I agree, but this is an ivf pregnancy - I absolutely know my dates. I just look at it on the basis that I'll be induced earlier if it comes to that.

I was put forward 4 days at mine and thought I could calculate my dates pretty well as my cycles were so regular. I'm going by their date as that's the one on my records.

I was put forward too. Definitely go by the scan. I'm 32 weeks now and had a foetal well being scan a couple of days ago and she is measuring a week ahead again by head circumference. At this stage they don't adjust the edd as any time from 37 weeks is full term but it shows just how right they were in the early scans when they moved me forward.

As everyone says, go (gladly) by the new date. But you might want to bring it all up again in late pregnancy if they start talking about induction. I was put forwards 5 days in my first pregnancy and 8 days in this one. (Very sure of dates both times -- completely regular cycle / ovulation day 14 etc.) I was thrilled last time to lose the days during grim morning sickness, BUT then of course didn't go into labour... DS was eventually born after induction/c-section at 40+11 (their dates). I do wish we had given him a few more days to see if he would emerge by himself!
