Over 40 & need advice!

Hello all, I've just turned 44 & after a miscarriage last year and a failed ivf pgs - I bought "It starts with the egg", read it and followed every advice as if my life depended on it. I am now 5 weeks pregnant - conceived naturally. Happy and frightened as hell.

Question: I took every single supplement the author of te book recommended for older women. Does anyone know or have experience of whether one must stop taking the supplements during the pregnancy. Top of my head I can remember: CoQ10, Myo-Insotil, DHEA, Alcarnine and a whole lot more. I may have misspelled one or two them. I'd be most grateful if you shared your experience/knowledge with me. Congratulations!

If the book was about increasing your chances of conceiving I would imagine you should probably stop the supplements now you are pregnant. I assume you are taking folic acid and vit D, they're the important ones. Maybe check with a pharmacist or GP?

Thank you GreedyDuck! I am seeing the GP this Thursday. Thing is that my IVF consultant washed his hands off me and said that at my age - I could not improve my egg quality. So did other consultants I saw. I then embarked on this journey of diet and supplements, all by myself. I will bring it up with the GP. However, I have lost some trust in western medical advice and am looking to see if anyone here has been through a similar experience...

Not sure about the others you have listed but I stopped with the CoQ10 when my IVF was successful earlier this year and also I think you should stop taking the DHEA too (I had some of this but did not need to take in the end but remember reading that it should not be taken once pregnant).
