What do I do? The last few days when I get up in the morning my bladder is full to bursting but when I go to the loo I just can't wee! I have to sit there for AGES for it to come in tiny trickles, even then I still feel like my bladder is very full. I have been tested for a UTI and that was negative, I was ready for going over to the hospital today, I needed to go so bad it was painful! Luckily I sneezed and as if by magic I could go again properly for about 10 seconds then I couldn't again. It's driving me crazy, what do I do!? GP says there's no infection, no problem. Obviously it isn't something that A&E should deal with.

You will probably be able to pee in a warm bath. Easier said than done with small kids around who may want to get in with you, but it should work. If it doesn't, I'd have thought it might be an emergency.

I've had exactly this problem in the first trimester with both my pregnancies! I was told there was nothing much could be done about it, probably to do with the way my uterus was tilted and 'blocking' the urethra when my bladder was full. But I was also told that if I really couldn't urinate at all, I should go to hospital and have a catheter inserted (luckily never had to resort to this). I did find that if I stood up and moved around a bit then leaned forward while sitting it seemed to help get things going. Also tried to limit drinks after 8pm and tried to make sure I got up at least once to wee in the night so my bladder wasn't too full in the morning, which helped a bit.

Thankfully, both times it resolved completely overnight when my uterus popped up from behind the pelvic bone so fingers crossed will be the same for you!

Oh god. I had this after my first baby. The pain was hell. And it was only during the night. I swear I was either passing stones or my prolapse was somehow hindering my peeing.

I was also sent for an x ray but was very constipated so it didn't show anything.

It passed after about a week mind.

I really hope it passes for you. They told me it was a UTI but absolutely wasn't as antibiotics didn't work and I've had them a million times before and this was definitely different level of pain. I almost called 999 pain.

Hope you get it sorted.

OP I feel your pain! Had this with. It's pregnancies at around 12 weeks - as others have said it's just uterus and bladder positioning but god it's painful. Happened to me due to tilted uterus which I think is a common reason. I found that walking around, doing squats etc really helps but essentially it will pass after a week or two most likely as uterus expands. Good luck!

Just to check you don't have any awful back or leg (sciatica) pain? Muscles in your legs all working ok? Can't take my work hat off when I hear about people being unable to wee. Hope everything corrects itself ASAP x
