Pregnancy

Has anyone else grown out of their jeans as early as 8 weeks?

I am currently 9+5.

My legs, arms and face are all the same size as normal but my stomach and ribs area has expanded considerably to the point I don't fit in any of my jeans or bras anymore.

I tried the hair band trick for a while but it's becoming uncomfortable and I've also resorted to stretchy not under wired bras.

I'm really worried about the weight gain. This is my 2nd pregnancy but I lost my last at 18 weeks, so didn't think I would be showing sooner because of that as it wasn't to term.

I didn't show at all last time round and people are starting to say I look 4 months pregnant and I'm a little embarrassed.

Please tell me this is normal

This is my first pregnancy and a blew up with ohss at 4.5 weeks-looked 5 months pregnant! My waist went from 29 inches to 42 pretty much overnight...it went down again around 7 weeks. I'm now 21 weeks and feel big- I think I was a little stretched from the ohss so have just gotten bigger more quickly than a typical first pregnancy. Could be the same for you due to your previous loss (I'm so sorry about that, it's just shit isn't it). My advice would be go into maternity or bigger sized clothes. No point being uncomfortable!

I went from a size ten to a 14 in two weeks when I was 5 - 7 weeks pregnant, so yes.

Don't worry about the weight gain, it's needed and natural.

I had a definite bump at 11 weeks.

Yes I showed at 7-8 weeks and stopped fitting my clothes.... turns out I'm carrying twins! Not to worry you! x

I am currently band on 7 weeks and my jeans are feeling tight in the afternoons, switching to PJs as soon as I get home from work!

I have also ordered a couple of non-wired bras as mine are super uncomfortable at the moment.

I do think it's mostly bloat though, as I'm not as bad when I first wake up...almost makes me wish I had more nausea so I didn't want to eat so much!! lol

Yes ME!!

I am nearly 11 weeks and wearing mat jeans already. But I also have Hyperemesis and am taking very strong meds to keep the vomiting under control. As a result I am SO bloated I could easily pass for six months....six months pregnant with a giant Poo Baby....Blush

Same here - have an 8 week viability scan tomorrow so will find out if it's twins (which run in the family). It's my second but with DD it took to 15-16 weeks to be at this point!

I'm really sorry about your loss.

With DC2 I was showing after about 8 minutes. I conceived on holiday and but the time I got back to work my tummy was busting out of my pencil skirts Blush I was really embarrassed about it at the time and felt like I had to explain it to everyone. Looking back, I shouldn't have cared at all. It was my body and my baby and all perfectly natural. At least you'll get good wear out of your mat clothes Wink

Me! I'm 8-9wks and have gone up a dress size, jeans and trousers feel tight on my tummy when i sit down and its so uncomfortable. I think most of it's bloating due to progesterone, as the little bean is hardly big enough to cause it just yet! I feel proper frumpy atm :(

I was wearing maternity jeans at 9 week as my regular ones were so uncomfortable! 14 weeks now and I recon I look about 20 weeks! And definitely only 1 baby in there! Xxx

I'm in third tri now but was exactly the same at the start, 7 weeks and I couldn't fasten any trousers...2nd babies can show sooner due to muscles having been stretched before. Despite looking pregnant really early I've been measuring spot on average all the way through 3rd tri and only one baby so in my opinion very normal 😊

Yes I think its normal to have bloating. I've been wearing loose trousers and then maternity jeans

Im 15 weeks and still in normal clothing.

However when i had my first i put on weight very very quickly and was in maternity clothing at 8 weeks and my band on my bra was killing me by 8 weeks pregnant so i ended up in maternity bras at 8 weeks too!!!

I put on 6 stone.

This time i ve made a effort to still eat well with no chocolate, biscuits etc as i think in pregnancy you do tend to eat more sweety things.

Have you changed your diet? I know when i was pregnant first time round i ate sweet stuff non stop.

I didn't grow out of my regular clothes during both pregnancies until six months, at which point I ballooned and was enormous. Both babies were quite big, 8.15 and 8.15. I was actually quite jealous of friends with bumps when I had none.
Everyone is different, as long as you're healthy don't worry about it.

I'm only 5 weeks and for the first couple of weeks after conception I couldn't fit into any of my clothes! Bought a 500g pack of brown linseeds at Holland & Barrett at the weekend: pour them all over everything I eat (halfway through packet already) and now nearly back to normal size Smile. Progesterone really messes with your digestive system Hmm

Thank you for the recommendation and fingers crossed it helps me

I longed for my scan to hurry up so I could buy mat clothes. I hadn't put on weight during first trimester but I was so bloated

I was moaning this morning getting dressed to my DH that nothing fits me at the moment and he said "well you can't blame it on the baby, you're not showing yet!"...he's also suggested it might be because I'm "eating all the pies" he was lucky I didn't smack him round the head!!

I am 10 weeks and look about 6 months pregnant. Not great when I am trying to hide the pregnancy until after the scan!

Yes! I had my first stretch mark at 8 weeks! How is that even possible?!

I did enjoy the stretchy waistbands though.

I'm only 7 weeks and have very round belly! I know mine is due to pregnancy totally messing up my digestive system, I can't go to the loo (sorry tmi) doctor suggested lactulose and it's making me feel a bit better but I still have what looks like a visible bump.
Agree with iamapixie ...doesn't help the trying to keep it secret until 12weeks!! Confused

Picked up a pair of blooming marvellous skinny jeans from mothercare today and they are amazing!
I finally feel comfortable.

I've also got some linseed and seems to be helping but have read a lot into it and bit worried about having too much as apparently it can bring on early labour 😬
