What bedding do we need for the Moses Basket

I'm pregnant with my first baby and am 30 weeks. We have a Moses Basket for baby to sleep in and I know we need sheets but not sure what sort of blankets or how many we need? Baby is due in January.

My daughter is 6 weeks and we never use blankets we always either put her in a sleeping bag or in a swaddle suit :)

We use a sleeping bag too. Blankets always get kicked off.

This might be a silly question but are there particular sized ones you need to use in a Moses Basket?
We have one 0-6 months but it looks too big?

Whatever you choose, always fold a muslin square in half and spread it across the mattress so it's under baby's head. Saves. Hanging the sheet every time they sick up.

For the first couple of weeks we just used cellular type blanket as baby wasn't really knocking blankets off. I got them from tesco. They come in two sizes so get the small ones.

Now she uses a sleeping bag...best thing ever really. I was told to stock up on all kinds of blankets, not needed really.

I second the muslin to protect from sick ups........

We used layered cellular blankets wrapped around the Moses basket mattress to stop them being kicked off. I don't think my babies were big enough to safely use baby sleeping bags for at least 3 months. They should be broad enough accross the shoulders to not be able to slip down in the bag.

I swaddled using a sheet. Put a cellular blanket over him if it was particularly chilly. Then as soon as Ds was kicking his legs up I moved him into a sleeping bag. I think he was far too small when he was newborn to go in a sleeping bag straight away.

Best Moses basket tip I ever had was not to buy special small sheets but to use pillow cases as sheets. They just slip over the mattress.

Babies need to be a certain weight before they can go in a sleeping bag, cellular blankets are great.

I just used folded cot sheets and I used pillowcases on the mattress I found it was easier and less fiddly to change then the fitted sheets. It also mentioned when they got wriggly it stayed on whereas the mosses basket fitted sheets would come off.

0-6 months is fine for the sleeping bag uour little one will look tiny in it to begin with but dont worry, they will soon fill it out.
