How did you feel?

Just before labour started - ie before you got a solid contraction/water breaking or something so you knew you were in labour?

Did you feel normal right up until that first sign or did you feel off/different at all?

I held my sisters baby on Monday (same day she was born).

My boobs started leaking and soaked my top very embarrassing.

I went into labour early hours of Wednesday morning.

10 days before my due date.

I had braxton hicks on and off all day, and every time I went for a pee there was flaky bits of blood which weren't in my urine, similar to what I got after my sweep four days before. I just had a feeling that it was the start, and I was right, went into labour early hours of the morning and had my DD by 7.17am that morning :D I was 3cm dilated when I had my sweep, midwife could have stretched to four, so I guess it was a given really

Both times I woke thinking I feel a bit funny. Contractions started within 20 mins. Oh also you know the 'call the hospital when your contractions are over a min and less than 5 mins apart' thing? That's how mine started.

I didn't know at the time, but in retrospect: about 4pm the day before I suddenly felt absolutely exhausted (I was in the middle of doing the window boxes) and had no choice but to go to bed. Slept until about 9am and woke up to what's politely known as a funny tummy. She was born about 12 hours later.

Had a migraine about a day before labour started which in retrospect was prob my hormones changing. I woke about 2am with a crampy tummy which i thought was dodgy christmas food - made it back to bed and then woke to pink discharge. Was going to be induced next morning as they thought my hind waters had gone so we headed to bed early 8pm and went into proper labour about 1:30am. Had DD at 10.20am but was fully dilated at 6:15.

I felt uncomfortable but not incapacitated. I'd driven into town, gone for a walk and then gone to the cinema but had to leave early as I couldn't sit still. That and mucus plug, but I hear that can happen any time.

I felt no different! Went for a long swim, felt uncomfortable in the night but thought I had pulled some muscles swimming, contractions started at 6am

Nothing felt fine and totally normal. I woke up at 3am for a wee but at 40 weeks there's nothing new there. Sat down to read as I couldn't get back to sleep then my waters broke. Contractions started about an hour later. Baby born 3 hours after that.

With DS I woke up and felt like I was leaking. Went about my morning as usual, had mw appointment where she said she could feel tightenings (I couldn't feel them but I was all baby so pretty tight round the stomach anyway) I then picked my daughter up from nursery, did a food shop and had just sat down with a cuppa when I had a mild cramping feeling. Had these cramps every 5mins from the start and gradually got quicker and stronger. First cramp was at 2.20pm and DS arrived 4.23pm!
It all happened so quick! I had to call an ambulance and just made it to hospital when DS arrived! Poor dh missed it as he had to stay at home waiting for either dm or mil to watch DD!
Definitely hoping this one is as quick and easy!
