I'm due 3rd Jan but they want to bring him a week early as he's going to be very poorly when he's born as his heart has developed abnormally. I'm almost 30 wks now and I get a fair few braxton hicks, he gets hiccups a lot and moves all the time. We also just moved house and I have other children so I'm exhausted !

I'm due 4th January but have GD so might be induced early! I'm also getting a lot of braxton hicks and movements are becoming almost painful now!

Nikki you must be shattered having just moved and also having other kids! This is my 3rd baby and i have the option to get induced due to family history (last 2kids were induced week 39)but I'm tempted to let fate take charge as i think a xmas baby would be lovely although maybe slightly stressful especially since we don't have family around haha.
Magpie do you know what week they may indue you? x

I was induced at 38 weeks last time but I was on insulin. I think it was too soon though, so not sure I'd want to go that early again.
I'm not on insulin this time so will see how the baby's growth etc is and go from there. It's frustrating not knowing though!
Have you spoken to your consultant about induction options yet? Are they quite flexible with you?

I'm due the 23rd! I'm getting braxton hicks too. I packed my hopsital bags today. How you getting on?

I'm due 22nd December. I was 6 days overdue and induced with DD. My own bday is actually 29th December so would be nice if baby held on till then!!

I'm generally ok - random aches and pains and general tiredness.

I'm due on the 17th Dec. It's my first so getting pretty nervous about his arrival now! Tiredness is really kicking in and getting sickly feelings similar to those in my 1st trimester.

MumMclean · 23/10/2016 21:38

Oh Kate I am totally with you on the tiredness and nausea!
I'm booked in to get a sweep at 38weeks so I'm hoping that will send me naturally. Consultants very flexible with me and I'm sure the will let me postpone induction till I'm 40 weeks if I wanted x

I didn't really realise how tired I'd feel even though everyone has said it'll hit me as it gets closer to my due date.
It's great you have the flexibility! I know I'm about ready to meet my little man but at the same time want to go full term x

I'm due January 9.

I'll likely go overdue though, as I have done with all previous pregnancies. My first baby was "supposed" to be a November baby, but was born December 8. Smile

Completely trivial question, but what is everyone doing Christmas present wise? I'm going to get something to wrap and put under the tree for the new baby even though he might not be here yet and wouldn't understand anyway. DH also suggested getting our DS to choose something for his little brother for Christmas which I though was a sweet idea.
It's also driving me mad not knowing whether to get baby's first Christmas type stuff. I know it's daft but I love Christmas and made a big deal for DS's first (which admittedly was more for me than him Blush), I'd love to be able to do the same for this one.

Due 10th December - feeling very reasonable apart from heartburn, which is a curse Grin

I'm buying 4-5 Christmas presents, all stocking size. She won't know the difference and will be a bit young for most toys.

Me, have the GD so been booked in for a section on the 9th December (have had 2 sections already) so it's nice to have a date.
Apparently this baby is very big, consultant reckons at least 9lbs - my last was 10lbs 9oz so fun times ahead!

I'm due my second child on the 9th.
Can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone! And November will be here next week.
Is everyone prepared?

Had hospital/GD clinic appt today (I'm in Ireland) baby measuring 3 weeks ahead. I'm 32 weeks by dates he's 35 weeksConfused not sure I'll be making it to the 9th back next week for more measurements.

Report
MagpieCursedTea · 25/10/2016 18:36

You have really low blood sugar targets in Ireland as well don't you? Sounds like having GD there is pretty tough. The measurements aren't always that accurate though so try not to worry! Are you on any medication?
I've got my GD clinic a week tomorrow which includes my next growth scan, it was all good at the 28 week appointment so I hope that continues!

Hi all,

I'm due 25th December so am 31 plus weeks now. I'm getting lots of wriggles but also feeling a little breathless today because he seems to be kicking me in the diaphragm! I'm getting pretty tired but aside from that I feel ok - huge but ok Grin

Packed the babies hospital bag at the weekend just have to sort myself out now. Only 5 more weeks until my maternity leave starts and I so can't wait now! Good luck everyone

magpie I'm prob being dense but what do you mean by 'really low blood sugar targets'. I'm in Ireland and just curious.

I had my GD test at 28 weeks and haven't heard back (I'm now 31 weeks) so assume I'm ok.

I won't be buying baby prezzys as I have two other children and have already bought this little one loads of clothes and essentials. Although I did buy him a Xmas jumper to take to hospital just incase he's a Xmas baby xx

Hi Trifle I am you due date buddy. Due on 10th December with #3, DC1 was 10 days early and DC2 2.5 weeks so potentially got a November baby on my hands.

Horrendous acid indigestion and piles but they are my only complaints. Now in my second week of mat leave, but it's half term so I don't count it Wink

Planning a home birth all being well (had DC2 at home)

Helga I mean the fasting and after meal targets for women with GD. It varies by country and even area and the women I've spoken to in Ireland seem to have much lower targets to keep to. For example, my targets in Northumberland are under 6 for fasting and under 8 for 1 hour after mealtimes. I was in a different area during my previous pregnancy and my targets were below 5.3 fasting and below 7.1 for 1 hour after meals.

I'm due my third on December 4th. We're visiting santas grotto on the 5th, and I had to book a ticket for him just in case he's here GrinGrin ridiculous bloody no entry without a ticket, even newborns rule

I was going to put a couple of bits I'd bought anyway under the tree (I got some rattles/teethers). The other two have been told they can pick him one novelty onesie each, Star Wars, turtles, Disney, that sort of thing, so they'll go under the tree too. I'm not getting specific Christmas presents. DS1 was born in October, and he was small, I still have his Christmas outfits, and apparently this baby is big, so I'm just going to use those.

I've already bought pretty much everyone else's presents, as the last thing I wanted to do with a newborn or overdue was Christmas shopping. DS1 was one day early, DS2 was two days late, so I'm hoping he'll make it to the grotto!

A bit off the xmas topic but this is my first (due 17th December) and my hormones are horrific...I feel depressed one minute, fine the next, then will cry at anything. My poor other half just keeps reassuring me it's hormones but now I'm even getting paranoid that he's going to run off with someone and leave after our boy is here and I feel awful about it. Anyone else had similar?? X
