Since finding out I was pregnant I been getting brown spotting on and off, it got to 7 weeks and enough was enough I went to doctors they got me a appointment at my local early pregnancy unit, They did a internal scan and all the found was thick lining no baby nothing, so I had to have a blood test to check my hgc levels they have been slightly raising and not going down so they diagnosed me with a pregnancy in unknown location I had a Methotrexate injection to try and help me miscarry but two days in and nothing has happened I am getting really depressed that this won't work and I will need a operation to find the pregnancy and if it's in my tubes like a ectopic will ever becoming a mum I feel so sad Sad

So sorry to hear this. Hopefully your tube can be saved.

Hopefully someone with experience if this will come along soon.

So sorry to read this. I was diagnosed with the same and had the injection. I was kept in hospital until it worked. Are you in hospital?

I was given methotrexate for an ectopic and it took a while to work. I think it was close to a week and they were suggesting I have another dosage but my HCG levels finally started dropping although I didn't bleed heavily.

When are you next being seen?

I'm sorry to read this. I've had an ectopic
myself and I understand that the waiting and the monitoring is so frustrating. I had an operation to remove my left tube as I had previously been diagnosed with a blocked tube during fertility investigations anyway.

I'm really sorry you are going through this. I had a mmc at 13 weeks back in January. I only have one tube and I've conceived 3 babies, I have my dd, my lost baby and I'm now 27 weeks. Try not to lose hope, if you end up having to have an operation all is not lost. Flowers

Hope it all works out ok. I hated waiting when I had an ectopic. I did lose my tube as it ruptured, but fell pregnant again the first month we tried. So don't panic that you will lose your fertility.

Why haven't they done a vaginal scan yet?

They have done 2 internal vaginal scans and found nothing, i have another blood test today and from that they can work out if I need another injection I am so worried about going for the blood test I just want the first injection to work it's only been 2 days I don't think that's enough time to let the injection work

Hello I had this too. I took a test because I was late but I took it to rule out pregnancy not because I thought I was..... and it was a faint positive . 10 days went by and still didn't feel pregnant so I took the other test and the line was still faint. I put the tests side by side and they were exactly the same. With my other babies the line would be way darker by this point and I'd be vomiting. So I went to see my GP who took a blood test and said I was pregnant I said of course but something is wrong. She didn't believe me but sent me for a scan. I got there and I said to the lady you won't find a baby in there. She says when she hears a girl say that she knows something is very wrong!! She scanned me and I had a thick lining. She asks is there any chance I'm around 4 weeks pregnant. No I say about 6-7. She takes blood and sends me home then calls me 2 hours later to say my levels went up from my GPs blood test but not of that of a normal pregnancy. She said she did not see a baby in my tubes so she must note this as a pregnancy of an unknown location and I must come back for an operation with a camera to find and remove the pregnancy. Or have more blood in 2 days. I said the blood test. So I start spotting over the next day and go back on day 2 to find my levels still going up. I spotted all week but my levels kept going up. On the Friday I was told I did need the op to remove it or an injection to dissolve it. I said can I not wait this out, I promised I'd go back to hospital if I had any sever pain so she agreed but if by Monday nothing I must go ahead with the injection or op. I bled heavier over the weekend and had an ache in my lower left side all day!!! On the Monday my bleeding had stopped and my blood test that day was very low! My baby had gone. It never came out though but they said often it won't be growing normally and would be very small and my body would absorb it. I didn't feel sad because I knew before I even took a test something was wrong. I got pregnancy again 3 months later. He was in the right place and he's 19 months old now x

You might find that your bloods show that your levels are dropping. It's very hard for them to tell what is happening without taking bloods. I would not necessarily expect them to have any answers today. They might want repeat bloods in two days to be sure levels are dropping.

I know it is a really horrible time. I think the entire process with me took over 8 weeks - the nurse ended up sending me a card saying congratulations when my HCG levels finally started to drop.

They will want to avoid giving you more methotrexate if possible.
